With patch 1.9 NCSoft introduced an
LFG tool. Of course, with any such tool it is only as good as the number of players that use it. With that in mind, and knowing that NCSoft's grasp of English is less than perfect, here is our guide to using the Find Group tool.
TO open the LFG tool, press Shift-V.
First off, the window is split into two tabs: "Recruit Group Members" and "Apply for Group". If it makes more sense to you, and it probably will, we can think of these as "Group Looking for More (LFM)" and "Player Looking for Group (LFG)", respectively.
Recruit Group Members
- Checkboxes:
- Group - If you are a Group LFM, check this
- Alliance - If you are an Alliance LFM, check this
- Always display my post - This will automatically post a LFM message for you in the /3 (LFG) channel, with a link that can be used by others to Apply to your Group
- Auto search when window is closed - If this is checked the Searching Find Group icon will appear on your UI and the system will notify you if anyone Applies for Group with Keywords that match any of yours
- Level: Obvious, but what level range of players are you looking for?
- Keyword: Enter one or more Keywords (separated by space). This will be used to attempt to auto-match your group with players that are LFG.
Apply for Group
- Group - If you are a Looking for a Group , check this
- Alliance - If you are Looking for an Alliance, check this
- Always display my post - This will automatically post a LFG message for you in the /3 (LFG) channel with a link that can be used by others to Invite you to a Group
- Auto search when window is closed - If this is checked the Searching Find Group icon will appear on your UI and the system will notify you if any groups matching your Keywords creates a Recruit Group Members entry
- Level: Obvious, but what level range of players are you wanting to group with?
- Keyword: Enter one or more Keywords (separated by space). This will be used to attempt to auto-match you with groups that are LFM.
