Quests will be organized into chapters, much like chapters in a book or acts in a play. Some quests are self-contained in a single chapter, but others branch out across multiple chapters which must be completed in separate stages as you work your way through the game. The scope of a quest is indicated by it's radius. It's fair to say that the bigger quests will have more relevance to the story of the Age of Reckoning than others.
- Charges take place in a single chapter, and serve to illuminate only that chapter's story.
- Adventures will continue over multiple chapters, and help to transition the story from chapter to chapter, within a single tier.
- Epics are enormous, spanning multiple chapters from the first tier to the last.
- Public: Quests that benefit from the participation of the entire realm
- Personal: Quests that are for your character only
- Conflict: Quests that pit players against an enemy with opposing goals
- Branching: Quests that let you choose the outcome of the quest and your reward
- Exploration: Quests that reward exploration with high value loot
