The way I read it was that they won't be changing EQ1. EQ2 is a whole new game. So I think your old eq charactes are safe. You just now have the option of playing a differant game with the same story line. If you don't like it just don't buy it when it comes out. It sounds intriguing but I am foreve |

The items they are publishing on the upcoming game sound very ambitious. The problem is when you get too ambitious, there are certain things you just can't do. The people at Artifact Entertainment learned that the hard way with Horizons, and had to go back to almost square one redesigning the game, |

EQ2 won't be out for a long time, I wouldn't be surprised at late 2003 or sometime in 04. And as has been said, EQ1 isn't being replaced. EQ2 is basically just a new, standalone game, just set in the same universe. Sure some people will migrate to it, just like whenever a new MMORPG comes out, but i |

What I find amusing, is how so many people are Witching (with a capital B) and complaining about a new game. Blizzard is a very successfull company. They put out exactly -1- expansion for each product. We pay the money because it's enjoyable. We have been playing basically the -same- game for 3+ ye |

Calm yourself, the announcement said nothing about storing yer crap in yer "structure". You're assuming that since UO did it EQ2 will too. No one really knows what features have been designed for the structures. They may just be 4 walls you can call yours. Maybe there's no benefit to i |

Its a GAME. If you don't want to, or can't afford to play it, then you won't.
I mean, there will continue to be options for everyone at all price/resource levels. I for one don't have any hardware limitations and can play the current EQ with all sett |

I think some parts of eq2 would be kind of cool, such as mercenaries and better image and visible buffs, but for the most part I think it will suck balls. Weapons can break, you need to cary stuff to diferent banks, both those things will be a pain in the ass as a monk |

It seems like the major complaints about EQ2 are coming about things like mob zoning, the new bank system, an effective end to twinking, etc...I don't see this as a bad thing. Everquest was indeed an experiment--nothing on its scale had ever been done before. Had the makers known how people were goi |

I always thought it silly that a monster would stop chasing you because you zone. New zone pics look amazing, and anyone saying the game will be worse is out of their mind. VI has had 3+ years of people to be beta testers for this game. Any complaints and/or problems that aren't resolved will be |

Ok this is just...well, sad in my opinion. Sure the graphics are going to be just fine and dandy, and there are lots of features that may be "neat" (from what i read), but the weapon/item system is a carbon copy of DAoC, which is why i stopped playing "that" game. Weapon/Item de |

I understand your frustration about decay of items but the whole point of the items decaying is that it keeps up a player based economy. I have spent many days and nights camping for items and its just a PITA. When DAoC came out I jumped to it because it was something new and refreshing. The idea of |

the thing is, you can get the weapons FIXED! decay doesn't mean it will rot into nothingness no matter what, and if it breaks, that probably means that a smith can repair it for you (for a price) using rarer/more abundant/more epxensive materials to fix it rather then a a few materials to reset the |

Unless they have some sort of limit on the ammount of housing that can be placed *which doesn't sound like*, it will turn into UO, where the entire world looks like one huge suberb.
Personally I'll be to into SB and the pvp it offers. Not to mention ACTUAL conquest of player cities. *DAoC is such |
