That all depends on the type of memory U have. PC 133 is much less expensive than PC 800 is. |

When you install direct x, always reinstall the latest drivers for your card, as directx overwrites card specific fiels and can cause problems. Got the expansion yesterday, did not install the new textures. I patch well, click "play" and BOOM- No 3D Devices Found. I have 256RAM, Pentium 4, DirectX 8.0

Unfortunalty they have had this upgrade posted for some time on most web sites and you where notified in your EQ log in about the system requirements of SoL (but of course you just skipped past it as it seems). |

99.9% of the problems all you people are complaining about is either explained simply by reading the damn system requirements on the package, or explained by goint to www.everquest.com and reading the help information there. Same problem without the cursor, just a blank screen, as if the monitor had shut off. to get past this i had to run dxdiag and change refresh rate to 60. this cleared that particular problem for me, hope this helps

Again, the main "No 3D device found" issue is DX. You HAVE to install DX8.1. This solved the same problem for me. There are messages about some people that still get the message though. |

So far I've reloaded windows98 twice, reloaded latest video drivers,and latest sound drivers, and DX8.1 3times, deleted and forced download of dx8dll 4 times, used advenced to check all patches except Luclin(which I don't have yet), put my character back to 640-480 video mode, and back to single lay |

I just spent a freakin arm and a leg on my new system - P4 1.7 - 256MB PC800 ram - Geforce 3 64DDR- etc, etc. I've been having the 3d card not found errors, and have dloaded the necessary patches but havent installed them yet. Just sayin that if its choppy for me, Im gonna havta kill somthing!

My PC spec is Athlon 1GHz with 384Mb of RAM. I have DirectX 8.0 but when I try to install the 8.1 version it tells me that I either have not enough space (still 4Gb left!!) or that I have a corrupt Cabinet file.
Is there anyone out there who has experienced the same problem?
