Okay, I think some of you are confused...I maybe just read the first few posts, but a lot of you have this sick obsession with grouping. If you're a mage, then you don't need a group...you have a group. You summon up a pet, cast burnout, give it a summoned weapon and a fire shield, then let it tan |

The best place I have found to find the Wizzy 16 spells are in Free port, thats were I found LB, as for SheildSkin you will have to find a dark player to look in EFP, allso going to lake of ill omen and getting the ruins, you can research most of the spells |

You start in Surefall Glade, this is a good place to be. Turn in your newbie note to collect your tunic and wear it with Pride! You're on your way to becoming a Ranger. Pick up that sword and go practice on rats, snakes, etc until you get level 4.
Try to keep your Sense Heading, Track, and 1HS |

My recently new mage is now level 4 and has the pet spells, so I have some questions (assuming doing a solo):
1) getting exp: does it matter who does most of the damage? if the pet does ALL of the damage, do you get the same exp as if you did all of the damage?
2) can the pet use any type of w |

IMHO you should focus on AC items, jagged bands are good for the price, orc fang earrings, start saving you money for the gems for your Ivy Etched Armor Quests. Your main focus should always be on improving your AC over your stats, you will find AC will help you more.
I say read this site if you |

No flame but your starting city as a half-elf depends on the god you worship. If you worship Karana, you start in Surefall. If you worship Tunare you start in Kelethin. At least those were the options I got when I started a half-elf ranger.

Leganea speaks the truth. But you don't necessarily have to burn skin spells to do this. I do this trick when I'm soloing low blues (the hermit is a good example.) I'll root the guy, and nuke him until he's at 30% health. Then, if (and only if) my health is full, I move in and melee. I'll keep |

go fer the human, sure we dont get infravision at start but once u get the spell at 30 you wont care and till then u have track so who cares, humans are stronger and most ranger bashing has to do with their hindered melee skills, a bit of muscle comes in very handy, frankly i think elven rangers hav |

I definately agree with you on a Ranger's potential as master of supporting roles in a group. I think at the higher levels, Rangers are more effective in groups. I just think we get shafted on skills.
Since we're set up to be such high damage aggro batteries, we should have a skill like the Rog |

Qeynos Hills is a decent newbie area, lots of non-social creatures to beat on and adjacent to two city zones (Qeynos and another one, can't remember the name), but be careful of wolves and bears. If Holly Windstalker (NPC) sees you fighting either of the above she will aggro on you. Even if you don' |

Cannis is right, I would suggest looking for a partner. Necro's have nice pets, decent de-buffs, and their line of Darkness spells are nice for the kite effect. Oftentimes necros are great solo, but find one looking for a partner and between their pet and spells they can hold mobs while you nuke the |
