Don't forget piercing. I have found that some of the daggers give good damage ratios while weighing much less than slashers. The light weight keeps your stamina up and wont encumber you. I am a level 42 ranger and using a crystal grinder in my off hand. |

Soloing my ranger got easier as I leveled. At 30 I finaly had SoW, Snare and Panic Animal. With this combo you can easily solo animals in Eastern Waste tell level 50 without "uber" stuff. The experiance is fast but boring. |

I have read on sevearl differnet sites that Rangers do not get SOW until 39. My roomate insists that it is 30 but I cannot find anything to verify this. Is this true? If so that would make me a very happy ranger indeed.

Rangers don't get SOW until 39. Every site or EQ book I ever saw on Rangers will tell you this. Sorry for the bad news. |

This will be my fist post so bare with me if I ramble.
Wizards are really pathetic until you get Bonds of Force. It will, if you are like me, turn instantly into one of your most cast spells. I started quading as soon as I got it. You may not have sow but you have teleports. Go hang out at |

-As you level you will be able to train in new skills. You will need to go to your guild trainer and check out what you can learn. If you just turned level 3 you can now learn the FORAGE skill. I will list the other skill you will eventually learn:
LEVEL 5 --->KICK
LEVEL 8 --->DODGE

Id have to say your not right in the fact that tishans clash is about the best spell to use while tanks in your group. First it stuns for about 5 seconds, plus it takes almost no mana to cast so why the hell not cast it durring your downtime waiting for the tanks to deal out enough dmg to start nuki |

Druids, mages and necros all solo quite well in EQ. This is a well known fact to most players. Each class has its own +'s and -'s to soloing.
I use this philosophy- soloing is destroying a MOB (or MOBs) at the least amount of time, mana and health expense.

In answer to your questions:
1) You are allotted 5 training points per level. At this time you should have 15 points if you haven't trained in anything. Go to Faydark Champions in Kelethin and train with Masyn Trueshot(just target and right click on him). IMO, one hand slash is your best friend=)

-At your NPC guild trainer is where you can increase skills, and learn new skill when you reach the appropriate level, by applying your training points to increase them. You gain 5 training points for every level you make. Many Rangers like saving up there training points for when they reach a ski |

West Commonlands, which is 2 zones west of West Freeport, is an excellent place to level from 10 to 15 quickly. Fight PLAINS CATS, YOUNG KODIAKS and, if you have a magic weapon, fight WILL-O-WISPS. Be sure to save any HIGH QUALITY BEAR HIDES you get off YOUNG KODIAKS. They can sell for upwards of |

Thanks for the advice, but I don't think I said I was using 1h slashing. I'm aware that most new warriors use 1h slashing weapons instead of 2handed, and I know that good 1h slashing weapons are really hard to get or find. However, 1h piercing and blunt weapons are not t |
