Straight from the log in page:
In our ongoing efforts to improve game performance we're migrating the following five realms to a brand new World of Warcraft site. This migration will begin during our standard weekly maintenance on Tuesday, June 6. In order to prepare for this migration we will be extending our normal maintenance window by two hours, beginning at 3:00 AM PST.
  • Cenarius
  • Cenarion Circle
  • Hyjal
  • Lightbringer
  • Uther
  • We anticipate the above realms to be down for a total of approximately 18 hours. In addition, due to the process involved with the migration, realms operating from the current site as those being migrated will be down for an estimated 12 hours. These affected realms have been detailed below.
  • Blackrock
  • Bonechewer
  • Dragonmaw
  • Eldre'Thalas
  • Firetree
  • Frostmane
  • Frostmourne
  • Frostwolf
  • Gurubashi
  • Khaz'goroth
  • Kil'Jaeden
  • Kilrogg
  • Nathrezim
  • Ner'zhul
  • Proudmoore
  • Scarlet Crusade
  • Sen'jin
  • Shadow Council
  • Shadowsong
  • Silver Hand
  • Silvermoon
  • Smotherthorn
  • Spirestone
  • Skywall
  • Terenas
  • Tichondrius
  • Vek'nilash
  • Windrunner
  • The goal with this realm migration is to further balance out player population between multiple World of Warcraft sites. We plan to provide regular updates during the migration process, so please be sure to stay tuned.

For those of you wondering why your server is being brought down for the migration of 5 servers, you can check out the tech forums from the last time this was done.

Apparently, sets of servers share the same login, AH, BG, Mail, and instance boxes in the server room. So, to get all those toons onto a new server cluster, they must take your's down and recode some things. Once they bring them back online, the new servers will no longer share your aux servers with you. This will lead to less lag on all of the instances you do (hopefully BWL the most), as there will be less people using them.

So, according to their support model, there will be an overall reduction in aux server population by as much as 20%! Woohoo! I can't wait for them to get to my server group.

Not only do they conspire against us, but they also eat helpless white kittens!!

The Koalas deserve it though, they eat forests of bamboo each day. White Kittens, on the other hand, eat mice. But mice eat cheese.... I like cheese! Stupid kittens!
