Test Server Upgrading to DirectX9.0c

A small note from EQLive for those of you on the Test Server: =================================================== Continuing our efforts to keep pace with current technology, EverQuest will be upgrading to DirectX9.0c to allow us to take advantage of many of the new features and fixes since our last upgrade in the middle of 2003. We will be updating our Test Server on Monday, May 15. At that time (or preferably before), everyone on Test Server will need to upgrade to the latest DirectX run times. This can be done by simply going to MicroSoft, and following the instructions there. We would like to extend an invitation to those who normally don't play on the test server to upgrade and login to the Test Server after Monday's update. The more people we have testing the new version, the sooner we can get these upgrades out to everyone. Please post any problems you encounter on the Tech Support forum. If possible, please include what graphics card you have installed and what driver version you are running with in the post. We will be monitoring this forum very closely to catch and fix any related issues as quickly as possible. -- Fairan Lead Programmer EverQuest Live

I agree, the test server is pretty cool the only problem with it that i see is its harder than sin to get a group at the lower levels, but thats easy to fix, just pick a class that can solo when need be.

I originally started playing Druzzil Ro, but recently started considering Test as my main server. Most of the people I meet on Test are more mellow and seem to be more into playing the game as opposed to slamming levels and AA's. You do have to deal with more server downtime, but IMHO it's worth the trade off.

I just got on and had a blast. I had no idea you:

1. Start with all veteran abilities

2. Start at 25th level w/ equip if you type /testbuff

3. Can check out Nektulos 3.0 (which rocks)

If anything, just play for 30 minutes a day with all of your veteran abilities firing, I can promise you a good time!

A bunch of no-drop, class-specific items and a bunch of spells. I played a magician and the equipment got my INT to about 190.

In your EQ folder is TestEverQuest.exe. Double clicking should get you on your way. Have fun
