As noted in an EverQuest Developer's Corner post, there will be a two-hour downtime for all Sony Online Enterainment games Thursday morning: ======================================= On Thursday May 12th, EverQuest as well as other SOE games will not be available from the hours of 4am to 6am PDT due to maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. =======================================

12:16 and EQ is still down... I agree with all the previous post, a nice reparation would be nice, such as a free month, free plat, or maybe a free day of double xp... just a thought

The note on Station.com said down for 2hrs. in place, but another note said it would be 6 hrs.

I think SOE should get it together.... We are required to abide by a set time for downlaods and patches. to include re-patches. It is apparent that SOE doesnt abide by its own flow of information.. this patch is a prime example of that. Next patch it would be nice to see a loger hour of expectation so when t actually occurs we are not in shock and dis-belief when it actually happens. On the otherhand, if SOE is done with maintenance earlier that the scheduled time it reflects a more positive look rather than a negative one.........sigh

Its 11:50am right now almost 3hrs past thier ETA dead line on patch lol, love SOE, can we say loooooooosers. We all should get like a AA or 1k plat on every toon or something for their mess up, yeah i know get a clue right. Thier sorry for any inconvenience is getting OLD.

its 11:10 EST May 12, and no EQ, and yesterdays 8 hr patch tuned into 10...todays 3hr into 4+ and cant even check on the website cuz its down too

If you own a pizza shop and tell people 2 hour delivery, and it takes 4 hours, the customer usually gets the pie for free. Unfortunately, SOE doesn't doesn't attempt to police their liars within the company management - Their moto is: If you don't like it, then leave - you suck!

why dont they just extend this update to the weekend? bums gave us an 8 hour patch just yesterday and then let us play with all their bugs and sloppy things they didnt clean up. and now who knows how long this one will take.

In my experience -
"brief/1 hour downtime" to sony = 3 hour real world time
"3 hour downtime" = 8+ hours
"8+ hour downtime" = a day if you're lucky

I dont know why they didnt just shut it down for the whole day yesterday and do both patches at the same time...it is crap to do this two days in a row...some people can only play during the day!

I comletely agree that SOE did a very poor job in informing us as to what was going on. When I was logged in 30 minutes ago, there were still some issues, at least on Povar. All day the Network Status pages was showing all servers were up. The only way to test was by trying to log in. First time I was able to log in, all the servers were locked. Checked the chat boards. Someone posted that she was not able to get in but her husband was playing. I understand why that was happening, but better information for all of us would have been better.

Hi,, i do not post hardly ever and have played since right before Kunark expansion came out,, and i do know that this is par for the course for SOE, but it just kinda makes sense to me to at the veeeerrry least post something on live under network status as what the heck is going on and why its taking going on 2hrs. past the estimated finish time. dunno,, just my 2 coppers worth.

Check out eqlive and click on network status. They explain why it is down. SOE is doing a scheduled update. Started at 4:00 PDT, that's 7:00 EDT. Supposed to have been done by 3:00 EDT, but having done a few updates to servers, they don't always go as well as we would like and you can't always know what is going to happen during the update.

Am I crazy? I log in (or try, rather) and I get locked out "due to a server upgrade in progress?" and check and recheck my calendar and it still says this is WEDNESDAY the 11th....

All the notes say the server upgrade (what a laugh) is scheduled for tomorrow from 4 am to 6 am PST...

Now it is 3:30 pm EST and still no access. WTF?
