I used to use castersrealm.com all the time, for spell look ups, researching for spells, looking up epic guides. That is all it was good for to me. Unlike Allakhazam, it actually told you what pages/words/runes ya needed for the spell research. But then some of the info quit being updated, their item database isn't as good as say Alla's or Magelo's.
It was a good resource for info and it was free, which is always a big bonus!
Bye Casters =(
I won't be paying for the new site info myself.
Stratics and Caster's Realm Merge
Got this in the mail today and figured I would pass it along and wish them good luck.
SAN DIEGO, CA and LOS ANGELES, CA – May 4, 2004: Stratics and Casters Realm, two of the founding pioneers of the Web-based content industry for Massively Multiplayer online games, announced today that they will be merging their two networks in order to create the world’s largest Massively Multiplayer destination on the Internet.
The merged networks will trade under the newly formed corporation Stratics Media Group and be headquartered out of San Diego, California. All of the combined properties will be provided under the Stratics brand and domain.
“This merger is a true turning point for the industry,” said Greg Short, CEO of Casters Realm. “Stratics has for years been the inspiration and model for many subsequent websites in this genre, and their relations with both the player and developer communities are unparalleled; Casters Realm has established itself as an innovator by first introducing many new features now considered standard and pushing pre-existing services to the next level. By combining the strengths of both networks, everyone stands to benefit: developers will obtain superior access to their target market and demographic, players will receive the highest quality of information for the titles they play, and our staff will gain access to cutting edge technology never before utilized within the sphere of Massively Multiplayer coverage.”
This merger brings together two networks comprised of highly complimentary services with only a small amount of overlap to be reconciled. As a result, the new and more comprehensive network will be perfectly geared toward providing an increase in the quantity and overall quality of dynamic content and services provided daily to network visitors.
“For nearly a decade Stratics has striven to be a leader in the facilitation of developer-player friendship and communication,” said Ryan Findley, President and Founder of Stratics. “Game companies have come to expect from us a unique co-mingling of definitive content, community building skills and an unparalleled insight into the concerns of the Massively Multiplayer player base. For years we’ve watched Casters Realm grow alongside us as a peer – now the next step in the evolution of both networks is at hand. Clearly, by combining our organizations we will be positioned to facilitate within the Massively Multiplayer genre even greater possibilities in terms of both content and developer service innovations.”
Mr. Short will act as CEO of the combined company and Mr. Findley will serve in the capacity of Chief Creative Officer. Additionally, Scott Yaskin will direct the daily operations of the network as COO. The merger is expected to be fully complete by Fall of 2004.
