Zenimax answers more community questions in the latest Ask Us Anything Variety Pack.

The Elder Scrolls Online variety pack is back this week with a fresh load of community questions to be answered. With the thirteenth edition of the variety pack, we learn about the Imperial Edition bonuses, the Early Access, Vanity pets and more.

Imperial Edition

• If you want to pledge yourself with a friend, only one of you need to own the Imperial Edition which gives access to the Pledge of Mara
  To perform the ceremony, both characters need to go to a Shrine of Mara. The player with the pledge will then target the other player and then use the pledge to evoke the Ritual of Mara.  Both characters must agree to share this commitment. Upon acceptance, a celebration occurs and the rings are placed in each character’s inventory. The rings are marked with the name of the matching character.  While wearing the ring and adventuring with the corresponding partner, both characters will receive a bonus to their experience. This bonus stacks with others.
  Each pledge can only be used once. The names on the rings cannot be changed. This union is forever.
• Those who pre-ordered or pre-purchased the Imperial Edition will be able to play as an Imperial and craft Imperial gear, transform any gear to look like Imperial gear, use the Imperial Horse and the Rings of Mara. If you pre-ordered a physical edition, you’ll also need to enter the code within the box to fully unlock the imperial pack.
• Crafting into the Imperial Style is innate for Imperials and needs to be learned through recipes for the other races
• The ability to convert an item from another racial style to the Imperial racial style is available to all characters of players who purchased the Imperial Edition regardless of race, but items converted will become bound to the account

Early Access

• To benefit from the Early Access, players who pre-ordered will need to enter the 3-day or 5-day access code on ESO website. If you have pre-purchased any edition of The Elder Scrolls Onlinefrom the ESO Digital Store, you do NOT need to take any further action.
• You’ll be able to play any race in any Alliance during Early Access
• The Explorer’s Pack benefits will be unlocked on April 4th (vanity pets and special treasure maps)

Vanity Pets

• You can only get one vanity pet on an account, but you can share it between your characters through the bank
• You need to summon your pet to see it, which means that you can unsummon it if you don’t want to see a cute critter while you’re working on serious stuff!

Miscellaneous

• There are eight character slots in TESO
• Once a guild is created, it will not be possible to change its Alliance affiliation
• You need to be of the same Alliance to level and quest with friends
• It is possible to visit all of Tamriel once you’ve completed your own Alliance zones
