Dungeons and Dragons latest expansion hits servers

Warner Brothers Interactive and Wizards of the Coast have officially opened the floodgates on the latest expansion to Dungeons and Dragons Online, The Shadowfell Conspiracy. Shadowfell features a dragon's horde of exciting additions. Foremost among these are two new adventure packs which challenge players with infiltrating the prison city of Wheloon and dismantling a Netherese secret weapon deep within the reaches of the Stormhorn Mountains.

Haven't played in a while? No problem! Returning players can take on one of the expansion's Iconic Heroes, prestige characters which start off at the mighty level 15. These characters feature unique looks and skills, but the adventure isn't cut short there. Shadowfell also expands epic levels up to 28, including new skills and feats.

The expansion, released yesterday, is available in both Standard and Collector's Editions. The Standard Edition clocks in at a mere $29.99 while the Collector's will set you back $49.99. The bump in price nets you a wealth of goodies, however, which include: an extra 1,000 Turbine Points, one +2 skill tome, two added character slots, and two Iconic Heroes. Both plans also feature the $10 Legendary Upgrade which adds a hireling, dragon creature companion, skill tomes, XP elixirs, and two cosmetic hats to the mix.
