For the Readers' Choice Award, we want you to nominate the game that has kept you coming back for more and left an indelible impression on your gaming psyche.

Did the launch of Guild Wars 2 rock your world? Was X-COM the game that you couldn't live without? Did PlanetSide 2 blow you away?

Whichever game it was, as long as it was released in 2012, write your nomination in the comments below and add a line about why it is, in your opinion, the best game of the year. You can also send us your vote via our official Twitter page.

One person, one vote -- multiple entries will be null and void.

The finalists will be given their due on December 19 along with all the other winners for this year's awards, decided by the staff of ZAM, including Wowhead, LolKing and all our sister sites.

Here ya go
# Dec 16 2012 at 11:24 AM Rating: Decent
-The best MMO of 2012 should be either GW2 or PS2.
(Both these games have done great and came out this year, they also look like they will continue doing great)
-The best MMO expansion should be Rift's Storm Legion.
( If you have to ask why go away).
-The best Indie game should be FTL or Legends of Grimlock.
-The best non MMO game of 2012 Dishonored.
-I like the give TWS world something, but I can't think of anything at the moment sorry.
(A fun and good MMO, but not as good and GW2 or PS2).
-The worst MMO of 2012 should be SWTOR and/or Tera.
(I know SWTOR came out in 2011 but is was so late it should be a 2012 game, and you can't say EA/Bioware haven't messed this one up SWTOR is still messed up, and the only good thing Tera had was the combat).
-The best Studio/Developers 2012 Arena Net.
(Or maybe Sony, or maybe both).

Nominating Rift
# Dec 14 2012 at 10:18 AM Rating: Decent
Rift has been an underdog MMO for years now, and without just cause. Trion has given the MMO community quite literally everything they've asked for. You want outdoor Raids? Done. Complex talent systems? Done. Dynamic and meaningful events? Instant adventure and level scaling? Of course. Even fully customizable player and guild housing! Rift is the be all, end all MMO.
The only thing I think they might not have done as well as they should have, is marketing. Winning a Zam award, something like Best Developer, or Best Expansion would be a great fit.
Rift

Bold Text I would like to nominate Rift as the MMO of 2012 and I have played WOW and LOTR and find Rift far above these two games.

Seconded. Of all the games I've played this year, I think I've enjoyed this game most of all.

I sunk ~150 hours into a single character in Borderlands 2, there are 5 from launch. The core gameplay was left alone from the first one, which is good beacuse it was perfect IMO. The story was great and it featured what I consider the greatest video game villain possibly of all time.

My only problem with the game is the DLC blitz marketing style, but thats just something that all games are doing now.

As much as I am upset with Blizzard I would have to toss my hat in for MoP. That may be also due to not playing any other game that is new this year besides Diablo 3. While fun, it doesn't come close to MoP. I could see how Dishonored might come close but since I never played it and just watched Let's Play's I couldn't tell you how I truly felt about it.

Can I enter a negative vote for TOR's handling of the transition to F2P?

I have to say, MoP is my favorite WoW expansion since Wrath of the Lich King. Sure it's not perfect, but WoW managed to bring some fresh ideas, new lore, and a TON of ways to waste time with this expansion. I haven't raided or run many of the new end-game dungeons, but with a ton of different dailies, factions, and the new scenario mechanic, I've been progressing even after hitting the level cap and it's at my own pace. When you add in mechanics like pet battles (BEST "worthless" feature since achievements), world raid bosses, rare items, and a ton of updated profession skills, I've yet to run out of things to do.

Really, I look for a game that can keep my interest and seems worth the money. World of Warcraft has done it for years - now, better than ever!
GW2
# Dec 11 2012 at 4:02 PM Rating: Decent
Even given all its technical issues, GW2 has such a good blend of refinements in MMO interface and gameplay that it gets my vote.

The combat focus on the game rather than hotbars/meters, the global auction house and many ease of use features in the UI make it a very modern MMO with multiple venues and features that are appealing to a very diverse player base.
Nomination GW2
# Dec 11 2012 at 3:33 PM Rating: Decent
I'd like to nominate Guild Wars 2.

I swore off early adoption of MMO's after the multiple disappointments from the past five years. I took a chance with GW2 and I'm still playing with enthusiasm four months later and looking forward to more. I think they've nailed the no subscription model for MMO's and continue to improve it. Do they need to improve? Absolutely, and they show no signs of slowing the improvement after launch. Their frequent events keeps the world fresh, heck even a new enormous island not four months after launch. This is a great game that is actually growing. This is why I'm nominating Guild Wars 2 for readers choice award.

Nomination GW2

Totally agree. GW2 is one of the best new MMO's I have played in a long time. The only thing it's missing for me is more story. The personal story quests are great, I just wish they had more involvement after you passed level 30. The heart system is a unique new version of questing, and the dynamic events are a lot of fun.

Sorry for the Repost, accidentally replied to a fellow Zam'er instead of the commenting on the article above.
