NCSoft Profits For 3Q 2012

Boring for some, good for others.

Bit of a snoozer if you're here for the video games, but NCSoft has done quite well this quarter, with Guild Wars 2 and Blade and Soul bringing in the highest amount of revenue for the company in North America and Korea, respectively. The company's profits from Korea were initially its main income, but (noting the first chart on the left) the giant red chunk has brought up their sales by a huge margin in NA, which previously brought them very little. This will hopefully mean good things for the company in the future, which keeps Guild Wars 2 afloat for us all.

You will have to excuse the delusional people at SaveCoH/Titan Networks. These 100 or so people actually think their hashtags and blogs are affecting an overseas billion+ corporation. SaveCoH/Titan Network is like a cult now - afraid to let their "home" go and desperately trying to make people think they are making a difference Smiley: rolleyes

Affecting directly? Doubtful. Affecting perception? Not so doubtful - especially since investor confidence is based mostly on just that. And if it's something verifiable with two minutes on Google, NCsoft's inability to expand into Western markets doesn't paint a picture of a company that knows how to do something other than a very narrow subgenre of games. We're just more than happy to share the information.
So it sems.

That said, it does make one wonder why, exactly, their stocks have been taking a nosedive for the past two months, with the peak in early September being cut off following a player rally in response to their shutdown of City of Heroes, and the latest freefall coming right at the heels of the selfsame financial report.
