12 Games of Christmas: Ultima Online
On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me: UO in a Pear Tree
An expansion box could be purchased and the new version of UO flew off the shelves. Justly named Renaissance, this version was a new world for players who wanted to ply their trades and travel with impunity going about mining, lumberjacking, hunting. Trammel was a mirror image of Felucca without the PKs, lock pickers and otherwise unsavory behavior. PvP was not allowed in Trammel. The rulesets of the game were different for those guilded and PvP was permissible. If a player was in a guild many fighting skills could be raised quickly by sparring with a guild mate.
Todd Pratt was a Major League baseball player, with the New York Mets at that time, and always had a computer with him at every game. He was a relief catcher and an avid UO player. He was also involved in the promotion of UO Renaissance. Playing on a different shard, I never had the pleasure to meet him in the game.
