One thing I just want to clear up about the conversation about Red 5's publisher battle, is that the legal battle they're involved in is with Webzen, who ONLY has rights to publish Firefall in Asia. As such the lawsuit doesn't effect the publishing of the game in NA or Europe.
The gliders seen in the video ARE usable anywhere, but they are a "module" (Firefall's method of customization) that takes up the same equipment slot as the jetboots, so you have to choose between the two methods of movement when choosing your loadout.
The reason they don't label it as an MMO is because they don't feel the traditional definition of an MMO covers everything that the game includes. There is a huge open world PvE side of the game that most would classify as an MMO, but there's also another entire side of the game in the competitive team based PvP combat system which is just as big a part of the game as the PvE side. So basically they don't deny that they have many elements of an MMO, but they don't feel that the term does the whole game justice.
