Worgen will sprint on all fours instead of getting a physical mount.

Zarhym just confirmed on the official forums that Running Wild is the new racial "mount" for worgen. Zarhym says it best, so I'll let him do the talking:

"Ultimately, we feel Running Wild fits very well with the nature of the worgen race. Rather than getting a physical mount, they get down and sprint on all fours. When you're playing a worgen, it just feels awesome. :)"

So yeah, worgen are going to run really, really fast. Sounds like fun to me! Of course, this means other Alliance races won't have access to a worgen faction mount. What are your thoughts on running wild as a worgen?

If your going to give that to druids you might as well give it to shamans as well...

Druids and Shamans do not need 100% run speed in a travel form and yes I play both a shaman and a druid so I can say this about my characters. Its nice to see something like this going in for the Worgen and knowing blizzard because it will be a mount ability yes you will drop the flag in BGs. Wait till its got some testing in before you make a call of what you think about this ability.

Anytime you call someone and dot,it's offensive,Say it to someone you don't know in Rl and see.

Not offended at all.i play lots of MMO's solo.got burned out on parties starting in FFXI.

And I'm getting the deluxe versions,so paying about 185 or so.I'll reopen them when it comes out.

As for why,never seen a solo game where you can do the things you can do in MMO's,like flying for one,though I'm sure there are some.

But main reason is I like listening to all the juvenile crap in trade.
If I played a solo game,would never have a chance to be rude.

Plus,I'm 62,and really don't give a crap what people think anymore. :)

I agree it make sense for Worgen to run fast,but still the mounts would have been nice.

Oh a positive note:

We can now officially say Worgen are the fastest race in the game..on foot anyways.

But I must say Blizzard is being rather smart about it, what Worgen would ride a mount..that it could eat?

I guess it's a good idea.
I'm not particularly fond of it, but I can always get a mount from another faction right?

I would have liked to see a bear of some type
(or maybe a new creature?, but i'm not going to fight it.

Hell all they need to do is make cheetah form sclable to go with riding skill, nothing more. They say they are doing things to make people use the older mounts, like making all your flying mounts skill to 310, but they are completely overlooking the fact that cheetah form is rarely if ever used after learning fast riding as it makes no sense to do so.

A plus for worgens and yet another fail for druids as usual...

Then you'd get all the PvP Druids complaining that they couldn't run the flag, as I doubt they'd let you do instant-cast, in-combat, 100% speed, WITH the flag. That'd make druids too OP in Battlegrounds.

No, what I'm suggesting, is 2 travel forms -- keep the current one, and give us a newer, faster one, that starts at 60% at 20 and is upgradable to 100% at 40.

Oh, and... I read somewhere the Worgen's running has a _Casting Time_?

yes it does have a cast time, so that it acts like a mount, you really think anyone would be any other race if you could have an instant cast land mount as worgen?

Well done to Blizzard for not bowing to pressure they must have realised they'd have and doing the right thing for lore.

They're right, it would seem odd seeing a werewolf on any kind of steed.

I do echo the thoughts of others though when they say that means that druids really should have their own travel "form", but at the same time can see why Blizz disagree.
(Yes, if they can change into any animal, why not one that can run really fast, on the other hand, their natural state would be as whatever class they are (Human, Tauren etc) and if you look at it that way it doesn't make sense.

My main is trying for 100 mounts,but I play solo.

So the mounts from dungeons are pretty much out.i have 94 so far.

Was counting on getting rep with worgen and getting their mounts to hit 100.

Both my accounts are closed right now to save money for the expansion.

If there are no mounts to get,I'll have to rethink whether I want to reopen the accounts at all.

Perfect World is doing me just fine for now.

I have to agree it's making Horde able to reach 100 mounts a little easier. I'd like it if Gnomes made some sort of truck or something for the Alli to replace the 6 mounts. I personally don't care about these things, but I know some people do care. I am playing horde and I'm going to get the go-cart things cause they look cool.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought Blizz took out the need to be exalted to buy a factions mount.

I play solo also, but for a different reason. I have the world's worst ISP that drops suddenly and without warning at any given time and is full of lag 80% of the time.

Calling someone an idiot because they solo doesn't make you play any better. Also, before you ask, yes I've played almost every RPG there is. None have a world like an MMO does.

Somehow I doubt you were willing to pay the $50 for the expansion just so you could get a single faction to exalted and get your 100 mount achievement.

I call bull and say you buy the expansion regardless and are making empty threats due to something that makes quite a bit of sense except in the very small context that is the 100 mount achievement.

Worgen on mounts seems weird. Looks unnatural, and really it makes sense for them to rather go down on all fours.

Since Goblins get mounts and Worgen do not, they'd have to add other mounts that Alliance can get that Horde cannot to keep the Mount-based achievements fair.

It wouldn't be very fair if the Horde had 2 extra obtainable mounts that the Alliance cannot.

Mayhaps re-skinned versions of mounts we already have, or something. Like 1 new horse color and 1 new mechano-strider color or something to balance Horde vs Alliance mounts out.

Otherwise, this sounds cool!

Now they just need to fix Travel Form for druids.......

Taurens use to have no mounts. they could just re-add that.
Would be cool to see a Bull running at fast speed.

I also think Druids should get a faster run speed so they don't have to buy a mount either. Seems kind of odd that a Class that can change into animals, still needs to mount to move faster on the ground :3

Agreed, druids should be able to run as fast as a mount. The bull for tauren sounds cool too.

Exactly. Been dreaming of some kind of "Swift Travel Form" for years now. Just needs the out-of-combat limitation and the cast time of other mounts.

Maybe a working Worgen implementation will open the doors for just that.

Eventually it won't matter much. Everybody will just use their flying skills anyway.
