Start downloading the update now in preparation for patch day!

ZAM user FearXI has pointed out on our general forum that World of Warcraft Patch 4.0.1 is now available on the background downloader! Blizzard usually does this weeks before the release of a major content patch so players aren't stuck downloading it all on patch day.

The patch on the background downloader is currently about 1.58 GB in size, so be sure to set and and forget it and the download will be done before you know it. To change your download settings, open up the WoW Launcher and click options in the bottom left corner, and then click Downloader Preferences. You can set it to download the patch while you're playing and/or after you've exited the game.
