Beta keys for Final Fantasy XIV are now available to Fileplanet subscribers.

 The gaming website Fileplanet is giving away a limited supply of beta keys for Final Fantasy XIV to North American subscribers starting on August 12th through until August 16th. For more information, follow the link here to Fileplanet's promotional page.

Is this give away even real?

I go to work at 5am pst time, I checked at 5 30am pst and "wow that was fast"

checked again every 30 min until now at almost 4 30pm pst and still same results, are they only giving away 1 a day or something?

They charge sales tax even if they do not have a presence in your state, they make you pay for the site wide gamespy membership even if you dont want it (if you deselect it takes you to an error page) and on top of that...instead of providing "high speed downloads" for the beta itself, your only option is to use the SLOW AS HECK square-enix downloader which i left on all night for 8 hours and i only got to 7.1 percent!

Terrible! at least fileplanet could have uploaded the full client to their servers to make their membership a bit more worthwhile!

my suggestion is just wait for release...lets just hope square will fix the terrible download speeds for patches.

Shame on you fileplanet and shame on you Square for providing such terrible download speeds!
