How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

lets see what things blizzard has to mix things up i cant wait to try the new races they look so cool.the way that the guild is going to be move involved looks like what i look forward to the most along with new pvp things to come ...in short the whole dang thing is what i am looking forward to.

I can't wait. A newly born worgen slowly fades into the world of Azeroth... Suddenly, from the sky, I descend on my mount, dressed in gear that just screams "level 85." Lowbies gather around, as they witness the power of my feral tank, and study the talent tree.... Then a single whisper "zomg, kin i haz gold n kin u take me into dm?" Very seldom is this a game that the entire world hanges so dramatically. To witness that, and to tell people I was there? Is the sort of achievement that makes me drool, and knowing that I could see things unfold for the first time, and I'd be a pioneer whether I fail epically or succeed gloriously? Yes. Please.

I am excited to play on a new type of terain. Flying in azeroth will be awsome. I cant wait to try the new talent trees. I just want it to hurry up and come out. I have ten toons that are just waiting to go to the next world. I think the best thing is turning my mage into a goblin. Blink and rocket jump will be hell to catch me.

In the upcoming Cataclysm x pac there are a lot of things that i am looking forward to, but out of all the changes, i most anticipate the rated battlegrounds and the guild lvling/talents. It will be most intresting to be able to play as one of the two new playable races (Worgen look beasty imo). Lorewise it will be intresting to see how things play out with Hellscream as the Warchief. All in all Cataclysm will be sure to have plenty of things for my wife and i to do in the World of Warcraft

The best thing I am waiting for in Cata in flying in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor because I will be able to finally get an achievment for discovering Azeroth, and mining will be much easier.

The one thing that makes me shiver is the removal of complicated stats and talent builds. An endless googling and thottbotting for what's the best talents? Best gear? Stats?! In the middle of all this, the game is forgotten. I feel like in Cataclysm I can kick back and explore the awesome new landscapes, embark on epic new quests and dont think that much about that my armor penetration rating from my mace specc vs the armor spells on caster mobs will only increase my damage by 0.5%. That's not why I play the game. Well done Blizzard. peace n love

Personally, I'm looking forward to everything in cataclysm. I'm most looking forward to new Azeroth. As much as i'm going to miss the Azeroth I've been in for the last 4 years, I think it's time for a change. Also, im looking forward to playing on the alliance again. Its been about two years since leveling an ally. Worgen hunter all the way <333 Goblin punting will be fun also :)

I'm most looking forward to the prot Paladin changes that will make tanking a bit more dynamic than it is currently (single- vs. multiple-target rotations).

Also, I'm really excited about the new guild leveling and perks system. For my guild, I think we'll see a whole new increased level of involvement.

I am excited to see the big change in azeroth cez tbh i didnt think any expansion will change azeroth only add to it for example WOLTK just added northennd but catslym added the new island and burned azeroth , it is a big change i dunno do i accept it or no. Then i thought about the new fetures in azeroth for example flying in azeroth. every1 wanna try there steady flying mounts over cities and go over some tower and hit horde/allince with range wep/ casting.
or explore thing that u couldnt explore without flying.so the most thing that let me accept playing catslym is flying mounts and the fantastic new quests.i just really want to enter catslym each day but we all have to w8 if we didnt win it. GL + HF :D

Guild Perks & Raiding Changes

I'm super excited about 2 specific changes. The first change is those made to guilds. Guild perks are going to make guilds relative. I've always carried a guild first attitude. Being a GM and being able to distinguish guild reputation, perks, upgrades, potions, flasks, reagents etc based on what individuals do to help our guild level their perks is going to be great. It's sometimes hard to get all your members dedicated to depositing gold and materials but this passive way of helping out the guild is going to make us GM very happy.

The second change that is being made is that there will no longer be gear separations between 10's and 25m's raids. This will give the smaller guilds the same benefits and respect that 25m guilds achieve. I would rather raid with 10 friends than with 10 friends and 15 acquaintances. These changes already have me jumping for joy in Dalaran.

Finally I can play a ret pally again after 2 years and not feel like I'm mashing buttons! I also LOVE my rogue and my priest so it seems like it's the BEST of both worlds using Holy Power as a ret! Top that all with being a Holy Cow (drool)!!!! Is this heaven or what?!?!

I'm really excited about the revamped vanilla content, new effects and all the changes to levelling (Quests, zones, phasing etc). I'm especially looking forward to trying the new races.
So far it looks awesome and I can't wait to dive in and see how things have changed for myself!
It's about time they remade the starting zones as I'm getting bored of levelling alts and it'll be like playing WoW for the first time all over again but in a more fun way :D
