Cataclysm Beta
# Jul 30 2010 at 6:47 PM Rating: Decent
hello i am thallion a paladin from stormscale Europe. the reasons i would like to be in the cataclysm beta are as followed;

i have been playing world of warcraft since classic(Just before nax was released) and since then i have grown a passion for this game, playing for hours on end. but i have always loved the process of leveling and i always will i just love the idea how supporting your young character grow in strengh as he/she battles through thousands of quests obtaining grand riches and upgraded armor and i would happily level as-many characters as i can in this current world at the moment. when the burning crusade started instead of leveling my high leveled characters (50-60) i decided to reroll instead of progressing into outland because i loved azeroth so much and i hated the idea of letting it go. but sooner or later i had to progress into outland and later on northrend not forgetting the fun i had in azeroth, starting from nothing and ending with great gear and knowledge of my class. i will obviously do this again when goblins and worgen are released, i just love the idea of a little crazy goblin with engineering being able to destroy anything in its path with bombs and crazy gizmos whilst retaining their wacky hairstyles. i also really would like to see the worgen (Not because of twilight ;) ) but because the alliance side have been lacking a large terrifying race. i have been reading most of the lore behind gilneas and i really have become interested in how the worgen/towns-people have managed to qurantine themselves from the rest of azeroth. i guess i have to find out when the game is released :)

i would really like blizzard to not change leveling so much that it is a step out of my comfort zone but i would like to see them revamp some of the quests because sometimes quests do not make sense without doing another one before and/or after it (Example: Kill 12 raptors, why?.. i later find out from a quest that i needed to kill them to protect the farmers) i just want this game to make a little more sense since new players from other games such as runescape (were you are actually told what to do step by step for quests) will have no idea what is happening and will have no chance to jump into warcrafts lore.

Not forgetting world Player vs player outdoor combat i am hoping to see blizzard help revive this dead art. i remember the old times of my 31 gnome mage who was based on a pvp server having no idea what was going on i was just exploring stranglethorn when a mighty undead warrior just charged upto me in his full dungeon gear set and one shotted me. whilst being spawncamped i got my guild to come along to help out, soon enough so did he and the biggest battle i have ever seen on world of warcraft had just begun (since i was level 31 i couldnt help out much though).
i would love to see this epic battles again. blizzard tried this with alterac valley and it WORKED! but now since gear is too good people dont care about the fun battles they just want the quick rush to the boss and a instant kill the same has gone wrong with wintergrasp you can just rush the gates and win no pvp contact has to be made.

Now back to my current Level 80's
My paladin and my rogue
first of all i am finally happy to hear that blizzard is letting you fly in azeroth, as i said i always did love azeroth but paying 5k gold for flying in outland and then finding it out after learning the flying skill i could not use it on my homegrounds kind of annoyed me

Since i have been a paladin since burning crusade (Were it was one of the worst classes) i did find it hard to do anything but when wrath of the lich king hit it just annoyed me how now anyone could make a paladin level it in record time and do top dps and/or healing with 4 keys. i am seriously hoping blizzard are fixing the errors of their ways and i would love to see how things have changed. because i am a paldin healer Healing icc hardmodes i kind of find it boring since all i need to do is use two spells every minute and spam holy light and still obtain top healing by about 15%

rants over now back to normal topics :)
My rogue <3 i have always loved my rogue and i have also loved the lore behind rogues in any game a skilled master of the blade, slipping through the shadows, attacking targets with insane bust damage killing them before their targets can react. but i think this had been changed a bit too much example every rogue who does player vs player will know that if you are against Any plate wearer/healer you must open with your overpowered stunlocks no doubt about it. i seriously think that blizzard should keep rogues in the shadows instead of letting combat rogues running around without stelath spamming overpowered stuns and pressing killingspree for a quick kill

thankyou for letting me take part in this and i really hope that you will consider me
I also have many more things to say But i really want to get back to my hunter (Leveling in progress) So i can experience azeroth for a last time before the big change :)

What i am most Excited for Cataclysm is the fact that the world is changing and how the chain effect of Deathwing uprising to his fullest power caused alot of Events that happen during Cataclysm. i am happy to see how blizzard brings back some of the classic zones and revamp them into a whole new WoW experience. it was breath taking to explore dun morogh as a dwarf hunter for the first time in m life i felt at ease and calm with the wonderful world blizzard has forged, with cataclysm i hope to feel the same experience as when i was just discovering WoW. i am really looking forward to these astonishing changes to the Azeroth,it will be nice to re-live the exploration of all the zones.

Well first off, I think this is the best X-pack yet, so were in for a wild ride. I cant wait to see how the reform in stats plays out with my warrior and the gear, I heard that they are adding much more stamina to the gear this time around while taking out attack power. I also cant wait to see the old zones turned to shreads.

I'm exited as ever for the expansion. Every part of it is amazing. Azeroth is long overdue for a change, and the cataclysm is the perfect addition to spike up the epicness of warcraft. Flying, dragons, amazing lore, Worgen conflict, explosions, rise of new villains and threats, and much more.

But if I had to chose one part of the non-stop epicness, which is harder than anything, would probably be the phasing and questing changes. Questing through azeroth has gotten dull and worn out with the same old stories over and over, so it is obviously in need of a bump up. Right now questing simply implies you to "Go kill 10 of X" "Collect X of this" or "Bring me X's head" most, but with the advancements Blizzard is making questing fun and interesting. With huge battles, storylines playing out, buildings getting destructed, actual NPC interaction, etc. Phasing allows changes throughout quest lines and makes questing more fun. With every quest having a story to it, it looks like an amazing ride. I can't wait.

A few things I'm actually looking forward to:
1) The new talent trees, they seem to be interesting with only 31 talents per tree it seems as if game play will change once more and make it even more interesting.
2) The worgen class, primarily their 1% crit racial buff, just might plan to make a worgen rogue and prowl around ;).
3) The new skills, especially for the balance/resto druids as there is many changed to come, same with many other classes some people (a lot) might be re-rolling to other classes.
4) Brand new terminology? Hopefully.

I'm looking forward for my retribution paladin to have holy power, and another completely overpowered move to make the class even more overpowered. Also i'm looking forward to the eclipse mechanic for my druid, along with starsurge :)
dying to go flying
# Jul 30 2010 at 4:42 PM Rating: Decent
I've been dying to fly in Azeroth for years. Every time I take the flight path from Org to GZ I think to myself, "I COULD DO THIS SO MUCH FASTER!" Why the hell do wyverns NOT fly straight? No one cares about a scenic route when their HS is down and they need to use a neutral auction house!
A Trip Down Memory Lane
# Jul 30 2010 at 4:38 PM Rating: Decent
What I am most excited about in Cataclysm is the chance to get to re-experience all the zones, places and content our WoW experience started with in the beginning. All the zones alone have so many good memories attached to them and getting the chance to go back there to do new content again is a fantastic feeling.

The thing I am most looking forward to in WOW cataclysm is the fact that players would be able to ride flying mounts in Kalimdor and Eastern kingdoms because it would make traveling so much easier for everyone and instead of wasting time walking or riding a ground mount, people would be able to use their time to level up.
so many things
# Jul 30 2010 at 3:57 PM Rating: Decent
I look forward to all the lore changes in Cata been playing wow since original wow in 2005 also played the 3 original Warcrafts and read all the books huge lore nerd. I would love to see how the horde has changed and the internal conflicts I been reading about on the forums also the new changes in Orgrimmar nice to finally see the city looking more like the horde capital with its new spike look. Also I would like to try out the changes blizz is making to my main character ret paladin I would like to see how holy power works sounds interesting. Last I would like to finally get a good look at what's behind Graymane Wall.
Armor!
# Jul 30 2010 at 3:56 PM Rating: Decent
Oddly, the thing I'm looking forward to the most is the changes Blizzard is making to Armor.

No longer are multiple classes going to be forced to choose between mediocre armor made for their class/spec and great armor made for a different one! Elemental Shamans and Balance Druids are finally going to benefit from EVERYTHING that's getting stacked onto their armor!
cata the beginning of a new day
# Jul 30 2010 at 3:43 PM Rating: Decent
How many people into a game to see how many things have truly changed? Slim to none right. Most people log in to wow to do one out of three things trade troll, raid or level. What really makes my day is when I log into cata beta and see the real changes down. Not only the big stuff but more of the fine detail put into the game. This small details really make my day. Who else can truly say that and mean it. detail is truly what gets my heart pumping for cata. Who doesn't want some one who is going to make our game a better one.

I like the new talents way as well as new races and their racials, guild system, new graphics core, modified old maps (example: barrens).
I play world of warcraft for several years and this expansion seems to be the most exciting.
What I think will be the moast awezum thing in CATA

I personally cannot wait to see Ragnaros get summoned by Deathwing, and to see him again. Man those good ol' times when we did hardcore MC raiding.

TASTE THE FLAMES OF SULFURON!

(Oh, and a remake of Sulfuras perhaps? Hintedy hintedy?)
Can't wait

# Jul 30 2010 at 3:06 PM Rating: Decent
i personally cant wait to see the (hopefully) new skins and designs for gear, also i want to see how much of a change to my classes talent tree so i can be even more OP then in WotLK.
Since I'm a Lore nut...

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to Azeroth and it's people with the Dragon Aspects nearly all eliminated or contained in some way. With Deathwing obviously having been corrupted, Malygos dead, Ysera trying (I assume) to contain the Emerald Nightmare, and Nozdormu tied up with the Infinite Dragonflight what terror will the Old Gods wreak?
