No Current Plans for Mount Speed Trinkets After 70

Remember when Blizzard made it so trinkets that enhance mount speed would no longer work after level 70 in an attempt to free up our bag space? Well, it seems that whole process is still in the planning stages according to Crygil:

"We don't have any immediate plans for trinkets to be used to increase mount speed past 70. It is something that we are discussing and we will have more information about this at a later date."

So unless you're a paladin, you'll have to wait and see what Blizzard has in store for mount speed. How do you think they should handle it? Glyphs? Enchantments? Something else entirely?

new mounts

Why not add some new faster mounts to the game? Im sure bliz would just love to add a new money sink for everyone. I mean is a 120% land mount really that crazy to suggest considering there are very rare 310% flying mounts already in the game. Make some rare or expensive land mounts and call it a day. As for pallies and death knight- they would still be faster than everyone else with this fix, but I think that would be working as intended to us GM lingo.

Why not add "enhanced riding" or "enhanced movement" to the talent tree for all classes? This way, it will be permanent and apply to all mounts.
Enhancment for Mounts

If it has to be done, why not just make it an enhancement for mounts. It would be a one time use time on one mount, just like an enhancement that you use on your cloths. Then if you get a new mount, you will have to get a new speed enhancement for that mount.
Yay for rolling pally

Yay for rolling pally when I first started..but still Blizz are just nerfing WoW past 70 honestly look at 5-man content..AoE? Yes please? There are no really difficult pulls...but mounts seem to be the least important thing right now, honestly so long as I can fly around NR and OL I don't care..
Donuts anyone?

I agree with the poster that said that Blizzard shouldn't remove/cancel a thing in the game until they have a solution to fix it. That's absurd.

I also agree with the poster that suggested that it be a 1-time use item, like the Fishing book for master fishing skill, etc., that you buy, use...and then it disappears from your bags, granting the effect to all mounts from that point on.

I mean....that, in my opinion, is an excellent solution...and it doesn't take rocket science to figure out or an OMFGBBQ-EINSTEIN! programmer to do that.

Blizzard is not telling the truth about this issue. This is the sort of non-problem that they could figure out a solution to on a break in the company kitchen over coffee and a donut.

Hunters have a spec that gives +10% mount speed i believe.
Poor Decision

Although I hated having to carry it around with me and/or macro/addon to have it equip and unequip when I dismounted it was a nice little boost to moving around. They initially said you could "enchant your mount" I don't know why they don't just make it a one-time use (like a recipe/book) that gives you 10% faster flying speed that is craftable by leatherworkers. It wouldn't take up bag space or anything.

As for why they got rid of wizard oils/stones/etc at 70 is because they wanted to make raids less consumable-required I believe. Although if we wanted to use them I don't know why they shouldn't let us...
sigh

IF they are not ready to put the changes in the game why couldn't they have just left them alone? I swear they have taken so many things away from us past 70 seems like. WE can't use any of the items to make our mount faster and we can't use sharpening stones, caster oils, etc.

not just pally's

Pally's aren't the only class that has a 20% mount increase. Unholy DK's can spec the speed increase as well. As for changes brought by Blizzard, they are coming so frequently that it's actually becoming a chore to keep up with them all. I am not complaining, or don't mean to sound like it. It feels good to know that Blizzard is listening to the player base (users) and not the shareholders. As for what Archfiend Goggy stated above, one permanent one temporary enhancement is just fine. If you want to use items that increase your speed like spurs, put them on boots that you equip while mounted and take them off for your upgraded gear when you are not mounted. For the Horde!

I just think its brilliant how they break/remove a long time option in the game. ***** over everyone who before the patch paid for their riding crop. Then tell us they have no immediate plans to fix it. I know its not THAT big of a deal, but in all honesty its just kind of stupid...

They should have at least waited to remove the trinkets and enchants till they had a substitute in place.

Personally I think physical items, like spurs and weapon chains, should not replace enchants, thus allowing players to have more than one enhancement on an item.
