Let There Be More FoV and Treasure Caskets!

Square Enix released new information today regarding the upcoming April version release. The popular Fields of Valor and Treasure Casket systems introduced in December of last year will be receiving an expansion, not only in the form of additional areas for both Fields of Valor and Treasure Caskets and updated positioning of the training manuals, but also the introduction of new Notorious Monsters for your training regime! Discuss this announcement on the Allakhazam.com forums.

From Playonline.com :

The April version update will see coverage of the Fields of Valor and Treasure Casket systems extended to include areas introduced in the Rise of the Zilart expansion. Fields of Valor, in particular, is set to undergo a major upgrade that will further enhance its appeal to a broad range of adventurer palates.

An Ever-expanding Sphere of Enjoyment!

The above-mentioned systems will be made available in the Rise of the Zilart areas listed below:
Cape Teriggan / Eastern Altepa Desert / The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah / Ro'Maeve / Yuhtunga Jungle / Yhoator Jungle / Western Altepa Desert / Valley of Sorrows / Ru'Aun Gardens

Treasure Caskets appearing for the first time in these areas will yield an array of rewards unique to their respective locales.

Enhanced Access to Fields of Valor!

In addition to the above Rise of the Zilart locations, the following original areas are also scheduled to host a Field Manual:
East Ronfaure / La Theine Plateau / Batallia Downs / South Gustaberg / Konschtat Highlands / Rolanberry Fields / East Sarutabaruta / Tahrongi Canyon / Sauromugue Champaign / Behemoth's Dominion

In light of the expansion of playable areas for Fields of Valor, a number of preexisting training regimes will be relocated for the sake of convenience. Currently, there are regimes for which the objectives are found in a different area from where the issuing Field Manual is situated. The next version update will eliminate hassles such as having to make a long trek to La Theine after receiving regime objectives in West Ronfaure.

As the icing on this veritable cake of convenience, each Fields of Valor area is scheduled to host multiple Field Manuals, so you can spend less of your precious adventuring time in commute, and more on completing your objectives and reaping the rich rewards.

NMs Set to Join the Fray!

Fields of Valor was created so that all players could have lighthearted yet fruitful adventuring available at their fingertips. Following in the footsteps of this ideal, the April version update will usher in challenging new objectives—elite training regimes—that will have hearts pumping in the ears of even the most seasoned adventurers.

Accessing these elite training regimes requires key items which can be obtained in exchange for tabs, and your choice of gil, beastmen's seals, or a piece of equipment. Rewards granted upon completion of an objective will vary depending on the combination of the above. For example, adventurers who trade gil will be handsomely rewarded in kind, while beastmen's seals will garner you an amount of experience points corresponding to the quantity traded. Those who dare to relinquish equipment, on the other hand, can expect delightful rewards the likes of which have never been seen before on Vana'diel!
As an added bonus, no experience penalties will be imposed even if your best effort at fulfilling an objective results in a humiliating defeat at the hands of your quarry. So go on, get out there and prove your worth and valor!

*Due to the grueling nature of these elite training regimes, no more than one can be undertaken per day (Earth time).

Fun and accessible content for everyone is the common objective which drives all of us here on the development and administration teams. These additions and adjustments to Fields of Valor and Treasure Caskets are but another part of our ongoing commitment to this mission.

Are you kidding?

Sam don't need a thing. With /War, you get goodies all the way to 75

Berzerk, Meditate, Hasso, SeTe, Double Atack, Soboro, Yuki, Gekko, Kasha, Hagun, Overwhelm and a lot more.

In regards to FoV update... absolutely superb SE. Making the game more 'fuller' 1-75 is just whats needed. The way FoV works is fun as it is, this update will just make me want to lvl more and specifically enjoy solo more.

I am happy that SE is stirring to the right direction. They are trying to deepen the game play for lower level and casual players. The 3 mini-expansions will further make the game enjoyable at lower level. ^_^

I'll be happy to finally be able to go beyond 65 using Fields of Valour, and having a daily shot at even more from the elite regimes is a major bonus.
This update is looking pretty tasty, so far, especially with the new gobbiebag being added, along with everything else.

I love the treasure caskets - More so for the rare/ex items. XD
Can't say I ever use FoV for much after high 20s, but I know a few who do.

The only problem I foresee with this so far is Zitah becoming even more crowded.

I've been leveling my WHM & SCH (finally) using this system, and I love it. I actually look forward to leveling my low jobs now. This update looks to make some of the minor things I thought were less desirable to be gone, and even replaced with better stuff!

Looking forward to it even more now :)

Great news indeed! FoV and Level Sync are two of the best features they could have put into the game. Expanding on the FoV is going to make leveling so much easier and a lot more fun for casuals who like to group with 1 or 2 other people.

I can't wait. This is amazing. I've been playing since PS2 NA launch and I recently came back to play about 2 weeks ago. I found that FoV by itself, as it is, was amazing enough. This new update makes it THAT much more sweet.

And another note: I know SE likes to keep these updates kind of...under wraps, so to speak, until very shortly before they actually implement it. Do any of you think that all of the bickering the forums have been doing about "not enough info, SE!" has actually paid off this time? I mean, this was a wealth of knowledge they just dropped about FoV and caskets this time. I'm cool with it.

It just depends on if you care about FoV and Caskets. The people who already use FoV will love this. Lots of the endgame-only fanatics will be pissed if something new endgame related doesn't come out, or some sort of adjustment to pre-existing endgame stuff. To those sorts of people, it probably hasn't paid off.

If the NM FoV system can prove to have some good gear rewards in the higher level areas like Sky, then this will be a welcome addition to endgamers. However, it seems like this information is targeting the more casual gamer.
