CCP Auctions HQ Tour to Benefit Child's Play

I've never met Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, but I can easily surmise that they're great guys. Not only do they create hilarious webcomics every week, but they also founded Child's Play , a charity that organizes toy drives to children's hospitals throughout the world.

CCP Games , the developers of EVE Online , is supporting this great cause by offering one player and their guest the opportunity to win a tour of CCP Headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland. Bidding for the silent auction starts at $1,000 and ends on Oct. 22.

Here's all the information from the EVE Online Web site :

"As part of the silent auction, fans arriving on or before Nov. 5, 2008, have the chance to net themselves an exclusive view of the world of CCP through a unique tour of the office led by CEO Hilmar Pétursson. Explore the hub of all that is EVE while meeting the many multitalented team members in our Reykjavik's HQ. We're starting this one early so, until 24:00 on Oct. 22, simply e-mail officetour@ccpgames.com with your bid. Bidding starts at $1,000 (USD). The tour will take place on Nov. 5, 2008, before everyone rushes out to have fun at Fanfest. You may bid as many times as you want, so if you want to make sure you'll win that golden ticket to the backstage of the galaxy, just raise your bid! Good luck!"

Of course, you don't have to be a game developer to help out with Child's Play this year. All you have to do is visit the Child's Play Web site and click on a hospital on the map, which will bring up a wish list of items on Amazon . Any item you buy will be sent directly to that hospital.

The 2007 Child's Play charity drive raised a total of $1.3 million in video games, books, toys and other items. Let's see how much CCP can add to that total.
