I just read on Casters Realm that it will be in the range of 8kpp to 100kpp+. There are 16 to choose from 4 colors and range in speed from jboots to spirit of cheetah/bard song. When summoned it looks like a buff symbol in the effects part of the screen and can be clicked off... Drops when you zone and can only be cast outdoors. Can cast/fight from the horse...

Hopefully Verant will restore the power of the D&D pally into EQ. Bonus fighting from horse and uber dmg bonus for charging with lance.

Someone ramming a giagantic tooth pick up your **** charging you at full speed with the weight of a warhorse behind it is going to do a helluva lot more dmg than whacking you with a sword. hehe

Can you tell I was disappointed to find the gimp eq pally after playing D&D since the orginal box version was released back in 1980 or so?

bought a comp 6 months ago just to play eq.
fixed finances so i got all i could afford.
now i need an upgrade.well varent if i knew this before i would have got better comp before.
now its near christmas everyone around my place is broke from gift buying.i cant afford to uppgrade.so now u say i cant play.

Hey guys! Has ANYONE been able to get into the game? Let me walk you through what I've been through, and lets see if anyone else has had the same problems.

My day today:
1. Wake up early and get my FedEx special overnight delivery package, containing "Shadows of Luclin" which I've had pre-ordered since early this year.
2. Start squelling like a little girl as I open the box and instal the expansion.
3. Count down the seconds till 10:00 AM CST, when everquest goes live and I can be the first vah-shir!
4. It's 10:00! Double click the exe file! Oh boy!
5. Delayed? Ok, well, they said it would only be shortly delayed, that must mean a half hour or so, right?
6. Double-click Everquest.exe seeing that it is still delayed. Do this every 30 seconds for 6 hours.
7. Holy ****! It's patching! Whoo-hoo!
8. IO error? WTF is an IO error? Why can't i download this stuff?
9. It must be because the patch server is bogged down. I'll have to wait.
10. Dreams of being the first Vah-Shir are deposited in the trash.
11. Later I find eqlive has a patch file to solve my problem, Horay! My vah-Shir is almost here!
12. I double-click everquest.exe (now patched w/ file from websight), and it gets stuck, and/or crashes and/or quits for no apparent reason and/or f*cks up my entire computer and must reboot, while patching "_verQuest.exe".
13. I repeat step 12 three to one hundred times.
14. Figure its my fault SoL isn't working, my computer must be semi-out-of-date anyway right?
15. Delete all of Everquest off my computer and reinstall EVERYTHING.
16. Get the IO error.
17. Download patch off of eqlive.
18. _verQuest.ini crashes/freezes/unexpectidly quits/laughs at me
19. despritly search out other websights that might offer help, come to Allakhazam's.

And like every other person who has ever lived we try and fortget about war when its out of site. ******** that our escape from reality isn't pathetic, its normal. **** happens, americans complain for hours then go beat someone up. Bad Amazon! Bad bad! December 7-13 somewhere in there will my Luclin be here... HMMMM time to camp stores and cancel my order at Amazon, heh. My patch continues to be ghetto, attempting to download the entire game. Time remaining : 30:65:32 ummmmm no. I had been bypassing this (this started with the new patcher) by going to advanced and selecting thorough file check but now the file check crashes. So I sit here waiting patiently... okay, so I should be doing homework instead of staring at my screen pretending it will make it work. Oh, and I could be playing DAoC, but I think it's boring. This game is supposed to be about fun RIGHT! huhhh ok right, i work all day and come home to this? This is not fun. And oh yea i paid for this to hehe. Not funny and not fun. Sorry i hate to be a butt hole but this sux and the only way i can protest is to NOT give away any more of my money if this is not fixed soon. I think thats only reasonable. Really what do u think?

Sigh, I'm about to give up, but I decided to ask here first...I can get through the patch process, but when I hit the play button, a message pops up saying "No 3-D device found". I downloaded DirectX 8.1 and I have 3-D graphics enabled. Anyone having this same problem or know how to fix it?

Finally got their help site to load, and it offers the usual solution to this problem: update your video drivers.

NVIDIA released a new driver set yesterday. Coincidence? Anyway, I downloaded it and it works fine with no hitches. First time for everything, I guess...

Hope that helps somebody.

Aah, feels better, haven't been able to do that in two days. I fired up the tutorial and wandered around as a level one Cleric named Soandso. Ever notice that all his stats are *50*?

Now, if only somebody can SoW me, I'll feel all ok again...

Its from a band called 'a perfect circle'. Good album. I've listened to it about 20 times today, sounds just as good everytime. Rose is a personal favorite.

I can SOMETIMES get to th patch screen. I have been able to download one .txt file and then my dial-up modem stops sending and receiving. I wait and wait and nothing happens.

Mine keeps doing the same crap plus more crap. It will download the .txt files and then go back to what it wanted to do the last few days which is trying to download the entire game. I had been bypassing this by making it do a throurough file check in which it learns it doesn't really have to download anything. Now the file check freezes so I can't even do that. *sniff
