We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.

I am a Goblin fanatic since WC3 I love the goblins I always chose the goblin hero and goblin units.

So I cant wait to try the CATACLYSM!!!

Most Excited For...

I'm most excited about the very nature of the expansion: a cohesive and progressive storyline.

As a player who has been active since Warcraft 2, I always acknowledged the difficulty with balancing the need for a progressive storyline with keeping content available for new players in an MMORPG.

The phasing system introduced in Wrath of the Lich King, as well as subtle and not-so-subtle changes to the "Old World" (those orc guards in Undercity can be so rude!) addressed this, and now Cataclysm is arriving with sweeping story progression that will no doubt invigorate somewhat outdated old zones (and spice up faction politics), but most importantly it sets a new standard for Blizzard in addressing the need to continually improve the heart of a good game: the story.

On the same note, I'm always ecstatic about seeing topics of lore enter the game proper. Queen Azshara, Gilneas, the Elemental Planes, and Deathwing are all exciting and due additions that will keep me a happy blood elf for some time.

See you all in Cata! ;)

Im most excited about the new areas opening up around azeroth. For a long time areas like Gilneas were left open to our interpretation. The areas have been in the game from the start but blocked off. Its gonna be really cool to see these areas finally. Most notably the world tree. Go blizzard!

What I'm exited for cataclysm is that since goblins can be mages I'm going to race change him and experience the cool new features of playing a goblin leveling to 85 :)

Also seeing what happens to the major horde cities and all new quest hubs for lower levels and the New path to level 85 :)

The thing I am excited most about Cataclysm is the up in Warrior aoe threat, I have been playing as a tank warrior since Vanilla and aoe threat has always been the issue. It was upped when we got shockwave but sucks when shockwave and thunderclap are on cd =( With the new rend on every target and the aoe on thunderclap, is a great addition to our aoe threat. That is what I am excited for the most =).

After been playing this game for almost six years now, I will be looking forward to the new way I am going to see both PVE and PVP with their new dungeons and battlegrounds. Let's mention something about PVE first as an example. 10man and 25man will drop same items with same item levels, But the difference between 10man and 25man is how much loot will drop. And PVP you can do rated battle grounds just like rated arenas In-game now. And of course lets not forget about Valor and Conquest points. I am a Paladin main specialized as Retribution, And a lot has changed since the first days of the game. This is a long time ago, So let's say I will be looking forward to a new challenge against my class, And the other classes in Cataclysm, "Changed". With a new world and a lot of pages written, It is time to start with empty ones again. But still! I will always miss the original wow and the expansions. Let's see if Heroic Deadmines can bring back some memories old memories. :')

-I thank you for giving me the chance to share all this etc. I hope you enjoyed reading my page and the all other pages to those who tried. :D
-I wish luck to you all, Let's make a big party as Worgen if we meet each others at least. :)

I've been off and on since the beginning. I'm really looking forward to the new Worgen race. Not sure exactly what class I'm going to roll since I've already got a DK, but it's going to be awesome. I can't wait.

Since that time I started playing World of Warcraft what is most striking is its flexibility and freedom to do what they want, according to the limitations. In this new update that amazes me is the creativity of Blizzard regain balance all classes with their new system for talent and now a real tazer importance of having a guild and play in group. Thanks.

Why:
Because i am wow addict :D playing since vanila. Newer quited never will.
Chars:
Have all clases 80's.
Still asking why:
Becouse i know probably all off wows tricks, bugs, and etc. and i want to find more that Bz coud improve.
Why cataclysm:
Because this is a good step from LK, TBC back to original WOW fun. Many people expect wow after Cata to come back to it's original fun that it was in vanila. And i want to add some efford to make it hapen.

Need more:
Just ask ad you'll be rewarded :D

Good luck to all :)

I'm basically looking forward to the new way hunter's will be played. By that I mean, Hunters using focus and how that'll work out in both PvP and PvE. I've been wanting to test that since the first wave of beta invites have gone out.

Besides hunter's using focus, I've been wanting to see Vash'jir and Deepholme myself besides just videos on youtube/some sites.

WoW Beta Contest Goodness
# Jul 29 2010 at 9:10 AM Rating: Decent
What I'm looking forward to with the release of Cataclysm, is the influx of new players! I know WoW has like 4-bazillion players right now, but it seems like many of the shards (servers) have a core group with only a few new players popping in now-and-then. I think with Cataclysm, a lot of new players will join WoW (both fresh, new-to-the-game players and older ex-players)

Also, playing "Indiana Jones" with the new archeology skill will be fun as well.

... of course, all of this is predicated on the fact that they will need to stop playing Star Craft II...

I'm looking forward to flying over the new remodelled Azeroth, checking all those places I used to quest in those 5-6 years ago.

I look forward to rerolling pretty much all my characters and leveling them through the new revamped zones, I'm going to really enjoy the fresh feeling of the level 1-60 experience. Heck, this might even mean I'm gonna continue the trend of rerolling every expansion (was a warrior in Vanilla, a druid in TBC and a death knight in WLK), I might try a shaman or a priest or something.

I look forward to exploring the new instances and zones in Cataclysm, and braving the new challenges found in Cataclysm raid instances.

Hell, I look forward to so many things I'm incapable of writing them all down here!
