Runes of Magic Offers Mount for Charity

Frogster has announced a large-scale fundraising campaign to help needy children in the Kingdom of Bhutan, also known as the "Land of Dragons." Runes of Magic players can help out by purchasing the exclusive Charity Wolf mount from the Item Shop. This mount is a two-seater that travels at +70% speed.

Frogster will donate $5 for each mount purchased to an educational program run by Save the Children aimed at supporting parents and children in the remote mountain regions of Bhutan.

So head on over to the Item Shop and score your awesome mount for a good cause!

Runes of Magic 3.0.7 and Holiday Events Now Live

Patch 3.0.7 is now live in Runes of Magic and with it comes the Snowflake Festival.To bring a little Holiday charm to the adventurers of Taborea, patch 3.0.7 will give players special daily tasks that boast festive rewards. Also, players will have the chance to decorate their in-game houses and even grow a magnificent Christmas tree!

Runes of Magic: Stop the Green Menace and Win Cash

Rare monsters in MMOs generally tend to drop some awesome loot. Well, how does a prize of 1,000 Euros sound? From today until Dec. 22, a large green menace will be going on a rampage in Runes of Magic. He will appear in the game on at least six days during the event window, and players who find the goblin and challenge him to a duel will be entered into a drawing to win a chunk of change from the 6,000 Euros that are up for grabs.

On Dec. 22, the green menace will be lurking in the 1 vs. 1 arena. The players who find him will be entered in the drawing for the prize money and will also receive a new 2-player mount, the Bunga of Damnation. The goblin prefers to emerge betwen 14:00-15:00 CET and 19:00-20:00 CET in Taborea, so keep an eye out!

Runes of Magic Patch 3.0.6 Released Today

Runes of Magic's latest update has just been released today. Patch 3.0.6, The Treasures of the Desert, brings with it the new Limo Desert zone. Deep under the sands of the Limo Desert awaits the new dungeon, Kawak's Tomb, for players to explore.

The update also raises the level cap to 62 and boasts new gear for players who reach the highest level. A public battle, known as the Yasheedee Catastrophe, is also available across all servers.

Limo Desert Trailer and First RoMCast Episode

Runes of Magic fans have a lot to look forward to over the next week. Perhaps the biggest news is that the new Limo Desert region will be available in patch 3.0.6 on Tuesday, Nov. 30. Frogster has released a new trailer for the zone, which you can view after the jump. The desert area will consist of nine sub-regions, one instance and seven oasis settlements.

Also, Frogster has posted the first episode of RoMCast, the official podcast of Runes of Magic. The series is hosted by Swag, the community manager at Frogster America. The pilot episode focuses on the level cap increase to 62 and whether or not the druid class is right for you.

Runes of Magic Webcomic Website Launch

Frogster has announced the launch of the Flo and Andy website, a webcomic that takes place in Runes of Magic. Follow the adventures of gamer Flo and her clumsy boyfriend as they take on the game together and she saves his butt. Andy's never been big into gaming, but Flo is determined to make a gamer out of him one way or another.

Limo Desert Zone Coming in Patch 3.0.6

Frogster just announced that the new Limo Desert zone will be added to Runes of Magic in patch 3.0.6. The desert area will consist of nine sub-regions, one instance and seven oasis settlements. The zone is home to the Canine people, and two of its tribes are on the brink of war.

The zone's new instance will take players deep into a burial chamber that contains the remains of the Canine tribe's most decorated war heroes. Check out the screenshots in our gallery to catch a glimpse of the Limo Desert zone before it launches in Runes of Magic.

Enjoy Double XP in Runes of Magic on Halloween

Frogster Releases Slim Client for Runes of Magic

UPDATE: The launch of the slim client on the U.S. site has been delayed until Oct. 28.

Do you want to try out Runes of Magic, but don't feel like taking the time to download the 7.5 GB client? Well, today's your lucky day. Frogster just released a new slim client that is only 3.5 GB in size thanks to the compression of some of the details in the graphical textures and sound files.

According to Frogster, the features in the slim client and full client are identical, and the slim client requires fewer system resources. Now seems like the perfect time to download the slim client and try out patch 3.0.5, which recently introduced the new world boss Amboriar to the free-to-play game. See you in Taborea!

Runes of Magic Announces New Content Update

Runes of Magic just announced that the next content update will feature not only a new zone for players to explore, but also a new world boss. The zone, Southern Janost Forest, boasts many new enemies for players to vanquish. In your travels you may encounter Amboriar, a boss that has been lying dormant for thousands of years. It will be up to players to keep Amboriar from falling under the dark forces' control.
