WildStar: Choose your AdventureFeb 18th, 2014 at 8:00 AM by CoreyJenkins
MMORPGs are games that thrive on giving players memorable adventures and content that they can experience with their friends and share with their guildmates over and over again. In its upcoming MMORPG WildStar, Carbine Studios is taking this term quite literally and adding an actual gameplay type into the game referred to as Adventures!
If you’ve seen Carbine’s latest WildStar Flick, then you might have a good sense of what these dangerous trials may entail--other than knowing your life will be on the line every step of the way. Following the latest Flick, a few press members, including myself, got a chance to hangout with Carbine’s Senior Content Designer, Matt Tobiason, as we ran through one of these Adventures and got to experience first-hand what they were all about. So without further delay, let me jump right in and discuss exactly what these Adventures have in store for all of you would-be heroes coming to planet Nexus!

WildStar: Crazy CustomizationJan 29th, 2014 at 8:00 AM by CoreyJenkins
MMORPGs come in all shapes and sizes and are defined by the individual pieces that make up the worlds that gamers thrive in. These pieces can range from environments and creatures to characters and story, but throughout the genre one staple has always nestled perfectly at its core--customization.
Whether you're changing armor, weapons, spells, abilities or your character's eye shape and hair color, tweaking and tailoring the game experience to suit your style has always been a major factor in any MMORPG. And while some games may be at the lower end of the spectrum compared to others of their kind, WildStar is definitely aiming to hit all the right points that give players the ability to customize almost anything they can get their hands on.

Carbine Releases 2nd Teaser Image for Upcoming MMOAug 12th, 2011 at 1:41 PM by Togikagi
NCsoft's Carbine Studios just released a second still image from the trailer for their soon-to-be-announced MMO! The image is titled "Welcome Wagon," although I'm betting those robot crab things aren't too happy to see new visitors. We'll just have to wait and see how they fit into the game when the trailer is revealed at Gamescom next week!
Carbine has posted a handful of blog entries leading up to Gamescom, including another still image from the trailer that features a scenic space view from the Ark Ship (whatever that is). In yesterday's blog post, Art Director Matt Mocarski called the project a "future fantasy game." From the looks of these two images, it certainly seems like we can expect to see a strong sci-fi element in the MMO. We'll find out more at Gamescom next week!
