After learning from Pikko, I have gone through and started working out plants to suit my needs.

My big need was to may Light crystals. Very easy, and some what profitable. There is still much for me to learn, but, what I have learned so far is listed below.

Elemental Rocks
Note:
To create an elemental rock you need to over feed it with the element you want.

So, lets say you want to make a black rock. You then plant it on Darkday (that way it has more dark days then anyother), Feed it on Darkday a Dark crystal (Dark crystal gives more nutrients on Darkday). Now harvest it on Darkday. You should find that you get a black rock.

Crystals
Note:
To create crystals you need to oppose the element you feed it.
So for me to make Light crystals, I plant on any day (I have found that planting on Lightday is not a good thing). I normally plant on Earth, Windy and Water day (randomly)... Still collecting data. Now feed the plant a dark crystal on Lightday. Now harvest Lightday.
Grain seeds yeild 1-3 (ussually got 2).
Vegi and Herb yeild 2-8 (ussually got 8).
Now personally I use grain seeds, but that is because I am impatient. Getting 1 stack every 2 days is better to me then 3 stacks every 4-5 days... Not to say I can get a 2 day harvest every time with grain seeds... or that I even get a full stack... again, don't plant on Lightday.

Anyways, that is what I have learned so far. I have been able to make it through Alch 40s for 140 gil per stack of holy water this way. Instead of spending 8k per stack:). Gotta tell you what a profit:)

Notes about gardening times.

Times are very important when gardening. Do NOT consider anytime between 20:00 and 6:00. This is a dead time for gardening, it is an in-between day time. I have used this to create Black Rocks and Light crystals from the same harvest (got 14 light crystals and 4 black rocks... I was happy that day)...

Notes about Moon Phases.

You need to go through a full moon phase for Grain Seeds, 2 for Vegi and herb seeds. Properly timed you can monopolize on this, however, it works beautifully for timing your harvest. Knowing that after a second full moon you will be able to harvest for grain seeds. See a full cycle you need to go from one full moon, to the next. So if you plant after the full moon, you will have to wait for the next one to come around (that is why grain seeds can take 4 days to harvest rather then 2, or herb seeds can take 6 days as opposed to 4). Now correct me if I am wrong, it could be a new moon, I didn't start checking moon phases this week, so I am just getting the timing down myself.
