Leveling leatherworkingFollow

#1 May 09 2009 at 8:43 PM Rating: Decent
I'm currently 420 in leathworking and I'm finding that all the things I can make to level requires at leat 10 heavy Borean leather, which is a royal pain to get,at least in the amount I'd require. Is there a pattern that would make leveling slightly less painful?

The simple answer is no there is no such thing as an easy way to get to 450.

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/skill.html?line=165 shows that it is all heavy borean + other stuff and gets harder as you get closer to 450 with the orbs being required as well.

Unless someone knows of something not shown in the trade listing that is easy i would say you are out of luck.

Not really - you've officially hit the steep grade to the uphill battle towards 450.

I'm at 438 atm and the insane amounts of heavy borean leather are enough to make me want to drive a spoon into my eye and scoop out my brain. I spent 3 hours farming leather and had enough for 2 items...that's nasty.

I got to 440 from 420 in a very lucky night of people wanting Eviserator sets and other recipes that gave skill ups.

I was on such a roll with it I actually was up an hour later than I had intended but people kept asking.

This was of course months ago. The crafting climate is very different now that everyone knows how easy Naxx is.

Good luck and hope your skinner gets lucky with Arctic Furs.

I just power leveled LW this weekend from 1 to 440. For those last levels I just bought all the arctic furs, frozen orbs, and the icescale and jormunger I needed to make epic leg patches to 440. It requires an upfront cash availability, but I sold every one less 2 of each kind for the guild bank and still made a profit. They sold in less than 24 hours.

In my opinion there really isn't a need to get past 440 as you can make every recipe available at that point. You'll eventually hit it making epics for yourself and others however, but there is no real reason to purposely try to go past 440.
