Really truely I do...and I never thought I would have to make one. But I just got home and I see a msg on my screen. what does it say? I've been disconnected because my account has loged in through another terminal.

I'm like...ok wtf. I start to log back in. Hmm...my character's naked on the character select screen. Ok...wtf? I log on...all my gil? Gone. All my expensive gear? Gone. I'm left with cheap *** gear and rare/ex armor. I go to check my delivery box...maybe the thief is an idiot and didn't take all the items out of the delivery box.

O...m...g there's a name there! And some of my gear, too bad...not all that expensive either. All my gear...sent to Candyj.

Yep, now I have nothing. Woodsman rings, bravo subligar, my thf knife, dusk boots, and so much more gone.

Well, at least I have my rare/ex pieces still...either I'm quitting or I have a lot of farming to do.

Thanks for reading this...I just had to vent, and I guess dragging her name through the dirt helps me feel better.

I know most are going to think I must have done something to deserve this, truth is...no just last weekend I offered to help her farm for gil since I had just gotten my thf knife, shows how people respond to kindess eh?

Well, I just spent almost an hour talking to a gm. Got the usual there's nothing we can do speech...ah well, either its time to quit or spend months trying to farm up gil for all that...either choice is a painful one.

Sorry man. I really hate when ppl get cheated in this game. This is the type of game where cheating someone is made so easy.

But my question to you is why did you let her use your account in the first place? Because if she was smart enough to hack your account (without you giving it to her) she would be smart enough to make gil in this easy *** game we play. Again sorry that it happen to you, hope you get on your feet again man.

Nobody can get your information unless you do something dumb. Like give away your account info, log onto anything but your home PC/PS2/Xbox, download any 3rd party tools that might contain keyloggers, go to sites that could contain keyloggers.

Basically no matter what, it is your fault it happened. Because you did something to endanger your account. Could very well be visiting a FFXI gaming site (such as this) and happen upon a page with a keylogger embedded in the post (though thankfully, the admin are pretty quick to react on such things).

Under those circumstances, yeah, it sucks and those types of people should rot in hell. Unless you DL'd some poshack or Mr.Argus and got burned by also getting a keylogger.

But if you gave your account info to Candyj, or anybody else who might have given it to her, then I have no sympathy. Because that's just dumb, and asking for it. I know plenty of people in FFXI, some I consider really good friends. But the hell I'd give them even one letter/number of my info. I wouldn't give my info to my grandma.

On the bright side, Thief Knife is force popped and nearly 100% now.

Is it my fault? Yeah most likely. Its just in my nature to be trustworthy, I've been screwed out of things in rl because of this. Anyway...on a brighter side I started playing TM again. Its pretty fun. Always gotta look for a bright side in a bad situation, maybe someday soon I get lucky on a few nms and I'm back on track. ^^

Lonethief; I'm sorry to hear that and I hope everything turns out well for you. Even though it's alot of *gil* *things* can be replaced....they are just tangibles.

Sadder is you trusted someone who deceived you out of greed and self interest. Be glad you found out who they really are now, move on and you'll be even better for it.

Pokiehl is right; but trust me, some of the best lessons in life are learned the hard way. You will be just fine.

Good luck to you.

Thanks Therone but that won't really do much. I just know I've helped her a lot in the past, giving her gil and help. This is how she repays me but oh well, its her (I'm gonna butcher this word...) consience that's going to bother her not mine.

Recently i was accused of stealing someones gear, until i proved them wrong. Names disappear when delivery boxes have been emptied. So no matter how quick you click on the sent to the name wont be there. But this is happening more often now and its such a scary thing.

Is there a chance that its not actually her? Alot of people know how close you 2 are in game and maybe decided to put the blame elsewhere?

Just an idea...

I'm sorry to hear what happened.

It is not your fault alone. Don't feel like you need to take complete onus on this. You only made the mistake of putting your trust in someone who probably did enough to earn your trust. Many people posting in this thread has suffered a similar type of a loss in trust. If Candyj really didn't earn your trust, you have learned a valuable lesson from it. Also, don't feel bad about posting on here. It lets us all know who to be weary of in the future.

It's that very same reason I wish that you could see other peoples Blist entries or maybe something close to a rating system for players online.

Good luck Lone and let me know if I can help with anything...

Aw thanks for the offer Six, but I'm not that kind of person to take things people offer out of pitty. It just isn't my style.

Could it have been someone else trying to frame her? Doubt it, no one else had my info.

I honestly am sorry, but after investigating through ffxiah I found some...interesting info. It may not have been Candy afterall. But for now lets just leave it at that. After some more investigation on my part I will post what the truth is. I apologize for this...and yay for me being part of shiva drama now! I never thought I would stoop this low -.-

Yes and no. It does disapear, but you will see it for a second, it's not instantaneous. Especially if you know what you're looking for. So it's very easy to pinpoint who you last sent gil/items too.
#17 Mar 14 2007 at 12:29 PM Rating: Decent
hmmm i got a few people to test that and they all said no name as it disappeared too quick. You must be bloody quick clicking on the names lol.
#18 Mar 14 2007 at 12:49 PM Rating: Decent
Depends which zone you're in. If you're checking it in Whitegate by AH I garauntee there is plenty of time to see the name because of the lag / cycle time for the item to clear. It's similar to the same period of time I have to wait for items to get populated in my delivery box in mog house.

I would like to put some sort of conclusion to this, yesterday I was able to find out who it was that took my gear. We came to an agreement, in return for he/she giving me my stuff back I keep their name out of this.

So yes, I got everything back! Well except thf knife...but sozu is popped now.

Apparantly there were multiple persond involved in this, was Candyj really involved? According to the person I caught, yes Candyj was involved. Wether or not she really was I can't say since Candyj has yet to long in. But honestly idc. I got my gear back and I could honestly care less about who's what's and why's.

Well, I think this is yet another life lesson learned the hard way through ffxi.

I'm very happy you got your stuff back but for pete's sakes tell us who it was!!! I grow tired of harassing rmt, I need a new target :D

pfft, once i got my stuff back, i would spread his/her name all over the damned place. there is just way to many immature little punks playing this game, and the more people who know who they are the better. doing that to someone is just going to far, if you dont like someone then just /blist and ignore them, no need to steal/drop everything they got. if they are doing it just out of greed, then they are obviously not mature enough to be interacting with people online and need to be grounded and have their lunch money taken from them...or at least beat'en up in an alley by a clown and his pet monkey.

this also happened to Robis a few months ago when Jokerj logged in and took all his gear/gil and dropped all his rare/ex, and it was actually considered fraud and was a very big deal that could have been taken farther then it was if he chose to. but, i believe the the GMs actually returned everything besides the rare/ex gear which, i guess they didnt do for you. maybe it depends on which GM you get.

First off I agree, we would like to know whos stealing things so ppl can avoid interaction. Too bad FFXI doesnt offer a PVP venue except Ballista, and Brenner.
I agree that if ppl cant get along blist and move on. As the saying goes "no one wants to be around a theif"
Im glad you got your stuff back.
Good luck !

If you don't name the thief, what makes you think that the person won't find some other sucker and do it again? And maybe they won't get so lucky.

And what do you have, that they won't do it again? Their word? HAH! Obviously that's not to be trusted. Once a thief, always a thief. Having a change of heart one time doesn't make it any less so.
