Anoying MacrosFollow

I have one I use (sometimes... decided to use it only when soloing because i got yelled at for this macro) on the boost macro for my mithra monk:

but someones MOM got on her kids character and yelled at me for putting drug references on a game her 15 year old son was playing! o.o geez

As a general rule, other people around you that aren't in your party don't need to know about every spell or ability you use. They have their own battles to attend to; you want to be considerate and not fill up their chat log with useless banter. At a MINIMUM, you should limit your statements to /party chat.

That said, it's also annoying within a party. Filters only go so far. I don't neeed to know every spell someone is casting. There are only a few cases when it is necessary/helpful:
-when pulling a mob to camp
-announcing TP in prep of SC (if using TParty/Windower, might not need)
-announcing the start of SC (not 100% necessary)
-stun (if there is a specific order set and you are notifying the next person in line)
-other limited situations.

It's funny at first, I admit, but it gets old and hampers the efficiency of your party in the long run. One compromise would be having seperate macro sets - one with /party announcements, and one without. Then ask your party which they'd prefer. Remember, this game is all about teamwork and what's best for the group; be considerate of how your actions affect the others around you.

If you REALLY want to hear yourself use the phrases/announcements, please use the /echo command. That way only you hear/see it and no one else has to deal with it.

Differant server, but thought this topic was interesting.

When I was leveling COR, my pull macro would be "Avast ye scurvy <t>, bring yer booty to me mates!!". Everyone loved it. Maybe if your macros arent lame and somewhat orginal people would enjoy them as much as you.

Jeeze! Does his mom wipe his butt for him too?! There are worse drug references in TV sitcoms. Does she troll the forums too?

1. Anything with <call> in it that is used more than once every half hour. Id like to be able to hear after playing for 10 mins. Routinely have to auto translate, <call > <no,thanks> <r.ear> <l.ear> <death>.

2. Anything that makes JK Rowling look like a good author by comparison. Idc if your flying magic thrust for great justice returns the hellbeast to Moria. Save the wordsmithing for your roleplaying and comicons.

Haha Snappy. You should have seen when CS and I were leveling lower jobs and he put that in EVERY BLU spell macro. I was laughing... Meara was not. "Can Self-Destruct come out and play?" It didn't help that CS doesn't use the /recast feature so he just spams until it goes off lol.

as much as i hate ppl with /p macros that serve no purpose anymore i have to admit that i at one point in time probably had the absolute worst marcis for my war:

it was pretty bad cause i used them all one after another, and i had more but i can't remember, they was all from a song by love lost but not forgotten called noone is watching dept. 3 i think was the name of lol. at one point someone actually put in the bazzar message that i had by far the most annoying macros i guess to warn others.

gotta love the price is right...it's so...something...full of vile disgusting old people and the nerdyest *** college kids who look the type who think they are all super mature and adult like but really noone likes them at all so they heard together like sheep so they can scoff at the passer by's for having fun together, the kind of person a nerd would call a dork. i bet that room smells sooo bad to man, for real all those old people probably toting around collastamy bags wearing depends, farting some real nasty farts and not even carry who notices cause who cares, they gunna die soon anyway. lol...stupid old people and they bowel problems.
