Bahamut (Storms of Fate) - 1/20/07 @ 10pm CSTFollow

#1 Dec 13 2006 at 10:42 AM Rating: Decent
My static is hosting a run for Bahamut v.1 / Storms of Fate. If you need this fight or would like to attend, please post with your name, job(s), and confirm that you can make the scheduled time. Linkshell / affiliation is irrelevant for purpose of this fight.

Scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 20th at 10pm CST (11pm EST / 8pm PST)

Requirements for this fight is that you must have completed CoP mission 8-4 (defeated Promathia) and completed ALL cutscenes after, including the two after getting your ring (the one with closing FMV and song). There is also one more CS after that by approaching the palace in Ru'Lude Gardens.

Completion of ZMs is not required for this fight.

You should be lvl 73+ but talk to me if you are under that and want to come. We really need melee/DD or BLM/SMN but all jobs will be considered. We are primarly concerned with getting 18 warm and capable bodies. ;-)

I already have a scale to get through Riverne B01, but if anyone has extras, please bring them as well just in case.

Thanks!

hmm, dont we need to beat ZM as well before taking on bahamut? i'll try to get my static in for this, i want me earring

My understanding is you need ZMs complete to do Apocalypse Nigh (CoP 8-5), but not for Storms of Fate (Bahamut). In any case, we're going to try to wrap up ZMs in the new year as well, even though we'll probably do the regular ZM14 and not DM.

me, me, pick me!

I know 6 people that may be willing to die....i mean help out in this battle. 4 would be BST, the other 2 might be pursuaded to bring other jobs.

Cool, cool. Lokkii I was kinda hoping someone from LoTB would need this. I think Yukonjack was gonna talk to Cabanaboy about it, and I know Whiskey's group is on 5-3.

So it looks like we might have a total of 3 or 4 statics interested. Generally, we would try to go on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon. Can you talk to your groups and find out what kind of availability they have in January (if they know this far in advance)? I know the weekends tend to be busy for people w/ dynamis & sky, so just let me know and we'll get it coordinated.

If you're serious about getting this thing going, I might be inclined to help out. God knows I'd like to try it at least once, since its been organized by our LS a couple of times before only to have it not happen. I'm in lokkii's group, so count me in.

I'd prefer to go with 2 other statics since those 6 people know each other and work well as a team. We're definitely interested in working w/ Lokkii's group. We are serious, but like I said it will have to be after the new year. For the other group, we can go with either Sixgauge or Taterz, depending on who can get their team to come at the time we can agree to.

We aren't as concerned about jobs as we are with a team that works well together. BST is definitely fine. However, in the other team it would be nice to get a few high level melee DDs and maybe another BLM. Our group can do the tanking and primary support since we have 2 PLD and 2 RDM.

How does Jan 6 or 13 sound? Say around 7 or 8 pm CST? If Saturdays don't work, I'd prefer Sun afternoon, but if it has to be during the week I'll talk to my team to make sure we can do it.

We'll we've been trying to schedule this and have had some difficulty. It doesn't look like the statics can meet at a common time so we are going to open this up to whoever can make the scheduled time.

I've edited the first post and I'll keep it updated with confirmed attendees.

If you would like to join us, please post with confirmation of your job and that you can make the set date/time. Specifically, for those who previously expressed interest (Sixgauge, Taterz), please respond as we'd love to have you.

Thanks.

Side note:

Whenever Jakaal records our fights they always end up being like 2 x 4GB files. I've tried compressing w/ DIVX (using VirtualDub) but it only gets them down to like 500 MB a piece. Compressing via Windows Movie Maker gets them to around 20 MB each, but the quality is so ****-poor you can't see anything.

If anyone has other tips suggestions for compressing these vids, please send me a PM.

Incidentally, I'm also looking for an inexpensive video editing software that will allow me to cut and combine clips and save in DIVX or another high-quality format. I hate Windows Movie Maker. I haven't tried cutting/combining with Virtual Dub simply because it looks way too confusing.

Thankfully my friend Sargon reminded me to post here about this.

If there's room, i'm a 75 PLD(well equiped if i may say so myself) interested in doing this fight. Thanks!
