I would like to invite anyone who has ever held a DVS (original social shell) or DVS3 (current/former end-game shell) to a Homecoming event to be held on Wednesday night 11/22 @10pm ET.

This is a night for us to get together, chat, have some fun and share old times. Current LS allegiance and past disputes wont matter to anyone. (Since we are moving to our new pearl on Sunday we will be using the old DVS3 shell to communicate with each other that night.)

If you wish to stop by and say "hello" please join us on Wednesday night at 10pm ET and send one of the following a tell to get a pearl:

Alekzander
Muffen
Jae
Jernau
Validok
Frigian
Sammmmmyyy
Ragnarzero

If you have any additional questions please send me a tell in-game.

Choky, you've quit FFXI three times since you've joined FU. Doesn't that technically make us *your* end-game? :D

I mean, technically it WAS the end of your game...

Then we are doing our job right ;)

Seriously though, congrats on the homecoming. I really admire DVS on a lot of levels. More specifically, I admire your LS for everything that it has accomplished.

I remember joining the first incarnation of DVS and being astounded that everyone was a sackholder. I was so used to the whole "sackholders are the top of the food chain" mentality; DVS was a stark contrast to that. It had the gumption to try something new...something completely different from what everyone else was doing.

When FU was made, a lot of philosophies and lessons went into it. Part of that was what DVS showed us: just because it hasn't been done, doesn't mean it can't be done. Making everyone in DVS into a sackholder may not have worked out, but it did help shape the thoughts and minds of at least one fellow Shivan.

So congrats again, DVS. May you find the best of fortune whereve your path takes you.

I just read your post about your gathering that you held on 11/22! Talk about leading by example!

I don't know alot about all of you in DVS; but I do know this: sometimes it takes a big person(s) to set aside differences; open your doors to those who may at one time or another not gotten along; had disagreements or parted on less than friendly terms; for whatever reason.

Lines between real life and virtual reality draw very close; we work hard; play hard; develop friendships, form bonds and for various reasons, just like in real life, lose touch or develop issues with each other.

I'm very proud and impressed that we have those on our server who would take the higher road; put differences aside and extend a chance to renew some friendships.

So to all of you at DVS ......

/salute!

Thank you all for the positive responses.

We had a great night at the Kokba Hostel in Whitegate. We had 50+ people stop in to say hello, renew friendships, and enjoy our time together. A couple of leaders from other end-game shells, who obviously happen to be former members of DVS, stopped by and a lot of folks who are members of other end-game shells dropped in.

I was very pleased with the way the night went and plan to make this an annual tradition.

Despite any past differences, if you cant stop, especially at this time of year, and express thankfulness for what you have, your friends, etc then you have some serious issues.

Its sad that a game can make people so mad at each other sometimes and it was very nice for at least one night to gather together as a family and just enjoy those friendships.

So a big /salute to all current and former members of DVS/DVS3/DLV. You are the greatest group of friends that a guy could ask for. And to those who are no longer in the game with us, especially you Miriel, we miss you and wish you all the best in the world. May you all find yourselves blessed in every way.
