But you're also right. My friendlist is populated by far more names of players who quit, than those who still play. Sometimes I can't help but think it's my own fault though ^^b
I've bounced around a number of linkshells. This linkshell gets old, people leave to other linkshells, endgame shells, or just quit the game entirely. Falling out between fellow members, rivalries, sometimes even just sheer contempt.
Kinda how I got to Fable Unity, people in my others shells began to quit or go on to endgame shells (same old story for alot of social linkshells imo). I've had a pearl for FU for awhile but never really logged in, so one day I just equipped it and left it on. Good buncha people.
