2nd Annual FFXI Fantsay Football LeagueFollow

#1 Jun 13 2006 at 11:40 AM Rating: Decent
I will be hosting a FFXI Shiva Fantasy football league again this year!

Year 1 went good with close games and records and Bloodspirit taking home the trophy in the end, but there was no trophy last year.

This year the league is still free to enter as currency wise to the site, but there will be a 100k gil entery fee.

That will be 1.2 million gil in all as long as we get 12 people signing up.

1st Place - 800k winnings
2nd Place - 250k winnings
3rd Place - 150k winnings

In order to receive the league name and password you will need to give me the 100k to hang onto. I will then PM you the league name and password. If for any reason before the season starts you wish to withdraw I will give you your 100k back. After kickoff of the first game there will be no refunds.

I am not going to run off with your 100k so don't worry. I am doing this to make it more interesting this year and I am asking for it in advance because I do not want to try to hunt people down when it is done.

League opens in early July, when I create our league I will let everyone know they can sign up.

Lets have a good run this year and good luck to all!

I will be excepting requests for date and time of live draft before I create the league, but once it is made draft date and time will be set in stone.

Btw, you do not have to pay when you sign up here. You just need to pay before you get the name and password when I create the league. So either post in this thread, PM me, or tell me ingame you want to join.

Fill me in on the rules, draftwise and what not... I'll probably be interested pending on your system.

NFL.com makes the rules, all I do is create the league and get it filled. It is free to join, but you need to have a nfl.com screen name, which is free to get also.

Gotcha... ok I'm not used to nfl.com's system as I usually go through yahoo .... But I just might do it regardless. I'll look at the system and then make the choice...

Anything to get rid of last year's title defense season, (its one of three in 11 seasons - won titles in 2004, 1996 and 1997.) where I drafted horribly... I never knew Daunte Culpepper would be a horrible #1 choice last season, but I paid dearly for it with the last pick in the draft /sigh. QB options are so bad nowadays. I ended up in 5th place last year, but the comeback was well worth it after going 0-3 the first three weeks. Ended up being the #1 in the consolation bracket and lost in the second round /sigh. Its always like that.

Yeah my seasons was not so hot either. I have Deuce Mcallistar and Ahaman Green, both who went down in the first couple games for the year. I somehow hung in there though and it came down to needing to beat Bloodspirit in the last game to make the playoffs and he beat me worse than a drunken redneck beats his wifster!

Try living off Marvin Harrison who didnt get many TD's last year and Drew Bledsoe who choked every time I needed him. Seemed only Plaxico Burress was doing anything every week.

Team MVP last year - Larry Johnson ... I was basically going the direction he was, but I cant depend on just one guy every week. It was that bad. I was lucky to get him too. I drafted him in the 2nd round. He fell that low.

I tend to have seasons like this when I am emotionally distraught (2-12 in 2002), but after 2004's surprising season (7 years feels like a lot, trust me) with Ben Roethlisberger/Peyton Manning as my QB tandem I couldn't ask for anything more, but I still needed to defend the title in 2005, which ended up the way it did.

This season is going be interesting. Its going to be a where do I go now direction. Its going to be the fresh season I think I'm going to be needing.I just hope I don't usually get my usual last place spot in the draft. -.-

Ok, I'm in. I just hope the rules are not via salary cap or just by points with no competition in it. Salary Cap is major hell because then I'd have to REALLY think about getting a true blue player that I want that would cost too much. I'll send the gil to you asap.

It will be a live draft where we all go into the draft room and select our players. It is just like the NFL drafts, but without trading spots. The date and time are still TBD, but I am open to suggestions.

Draft style, eh? Make em or break em.... Thats how my seasons go, and the Culpepper pick, god what was I thinking?

At any rate, weekends are best for me. Anytime.

Hmmm, i dont know why i bother but Ill join.....lol i know im not allowed...you would think the person who came in 2nd place last year only loosing the superbowl last year by 2 points should be allowed in but im just too good in Fantasey Football so ill have to stay out of this one. Kramer doesnt like competition eh.

By the way Kramer are you going to Draft Farve this year?

I don't care if you join, if you put in your 100k your welcome to join. You were a royal pain in my a$$ ingame, but you played good in the elague and thats what I want is close games and records...

ps: I took Favre in thr 4th round, I went rb,rb,wr,qb. I do not regret it, i mean my best options elft were Favre, Harrington, or Warner... What I do regret is laughing at you when you drafted the Bears defense, they were a suprise!
#16 Jun 15 2006 at 2:34 PM Rating: Decent
Well, i love you too kramer. Im glad theres some forgivness in this world lol.

How many Pro Bowlers were on the Bears Defense like 5?

Remember my power went out the night of the Draft last year so the computer drafted for me. I dont complain at all with the Bears lol. Marshall Faulk was gay tho.

and McNabb and TO well speak for themselves did great at start then were not worth a penny in the playoffs.

Hey if Kurt Warrner was healthy going into the season he would of had a pretty good year....he is surrounded by playmakers but isnt the best QB. I think He would of been better than Farve tho cuz farve had a career high of INTs.

Id love to join but i quite the game, so maybe i can get someone to donate for me like beta or hellbender and we can make a team together lol, damn i cant even get on POL Friends list tho over the webpage so i donno how im gonna contact em.

Plus Illiminus band me from there Ventrillo Server....btw anyone who needs to IP address and pw pm me! lol jk.

Good to know theres someone else besides me and Kramer that know how to win. But, trust me, Football isnt my best sport....

Baseball (Aeros):
League Champions: 1996-2005 Yep you heard me. 9 Straight seasons, going for the 10th one this season, and leading the division yet again. Never hurts to have practically the whole Met/Yankee roster on your team, not to mention an injured Albert Pujols -.-.

Hockey (Ice Dogs):
League Champions: 1995-1997, 2002, 2005-2006 definitely a more sporadic area of titles, but trust me, I love my hockey more than anything else.

#20 Jun 16 2006 at 9:34 AM Rating: Decent
I havent played in the pros but trust me, I know how it works. I have a few friends in the minors and major leagues in baseball... Trust me, I know.

By the way, Kramer, Alouzon said she wanted in, remember.

I cannot even create the league until first week of July, I just wanted to start early so I was not scrammbling for our 12 members at the last minute.

I try to set the draft up for late August usually so that noone gets stuck with that number 1 uber RB draft pick that pisses dirty on his drug test and gets suspended for the year in late July, or that really good QB that rides his motorcycyle w/o a helmet that crashes it in early August and is out for first 5 weeks...

Which one missed a full year after his motorcycle accident? I forget.

Kellen Winslow Jr aka KW2. He missed 2 years accualy. His rookie year he got hurt in game on a onside kick. he missed his second year this year because he hurt it on a motorcycle the same leg.

Ben just got hurt this year and should be fine by the beggining of the season but in my fantasey football leauge i wouldnt take him anyways. Hes a steeler player and he really doesnt put up the big numbers compared to other Qbs becuase he is backed by such a good Defense. But here i am giving away Fantasey footbal secrets for everyone lol.
