When i joind the worrd of Vana'diel in Nomber last year (6 months ago) i couldnt believe how helpful everyone was, now as i stand in Jeuno /shouting for help i find myself in dispare, the only time i can ever get any help is if i add a little 6 letter word to then end of my /shouts, "Reward".
I find myself spending an equal amount of time a week helping other players out (free of charge) to leveling my own character.

Anyways this is just my opinion
and as noone ever listens to me anyway . . .

I would say that ToAU happened. A lot of players have moved to Whitegate, and bored players that used to help now have three new jobs to level, assault to do, and let's not forget about Imperial Points. Personally I only see Jeuno in passing these days. Give it a few weeks for the expansion to die down and/or move your shouts to Whitegate. And you could always ask for help on this forum, there are a lot of helpful players on these boards.

Could it be that, in all that time of getting help from others, you never took the time out to repay anyone in return? I know that sounds harsh, but it could be the reason behind it.

My LS has something called the "1 gil" philosophy. In a nutshell it says that, to get what you want, you need to be willing to help others. If you constantly take and take, but never offer help, people will eventually stop wanting to help you. In other words, you run out of "gil" to spend with them. Conversely, the more people you help, the more gil you get...and the more they are willing to help you.

To get what you need, maybe you should try helping others as well? It can get you a long way.

Dawn, I didn't mean that you personally don't help others. However, many often confuse helping others with helping themselves.

For instance, say that someone needs a promyvion. From here, let's also assume that you also need that same promyvion. In this instance, you aren't actually "helping them." Yes, your presence may be of help to them...but you you are actually helping yourself. That's not to say that there's anything wrong with this example; that's the best way to get things done. However, it's easier to tag along because "I need this too" than to do it simply because someone else needs it.

The opposite side would have been helping this person regardless of whether or not we needed it. When you gain no personal reward by helping someone, that's also when you earn the most respect from them. By helping others unconsequentually, they are more likely to do the same for us.

I don't know you personally, and it could be that you are doing the latter more. However from personal experience, I can say that those who can't get the help they need...also aren't giving the help they should.

Well then give it time. The people you are helping will get up there eventually, and when they do they will hopefully remember your kindness and generosity. :)

Most of the Lv.75 crowd mainly hangs out in the expansion areas due some pretty awesome exp there. If the Aht Urhgan areas didn't have an exp bonus from sancation(sp?) and highly custered mobs for fast exp chains, we would be back in jeuno helping people out. However, I'm personally having alot of fun exping right now, I never see those shouts for help. ; ;
