ToAH being removed from shelves(ps2,pc)Follow

#1 Apr 27 2006 at 2:32 AM Rating: Decent
omfg, im gonna die.

here is my crisis, When COP came out for ps2, i didnt bother to get it because i had a few difficulties.

1) i was an idiot and didnt think i would need its suckiness
2)my Ps2 wouldnt read disc's, but would play the game because the hard drive is uber like that.
problem--- i couldnt use it to install COP anyway untill i bought a new big PS2 since my Slim ps2 doesnt support the damn hard drive.
3) well i find out that Toah cant e played without that COP version,(damn u SE) and it just so happens that the shelf life for the PS2 version of COP died nearly 2 weeks after the launch(damn u sony, for discontinuing the Hard drive).
I manage to get my current PS2 fixed, turns out all it need was a cleaning out.
4) Cop is now rare as ever and now im finding out from various stores that TOAH is now being discontinued within the next week, only a freaking week after its launch.
so i have to A. Find a copy of the very hard to get COP and install it, and B. Find a copy of the soon to be very hard to get TOAH being that its nearly alreay a mere memory being that stores are already starting to ***** me with their jibberish BS about "not many PS2 people need these games" being that game for the hard drive are pretty damn rare and hardly used.
5) what the hell
6)so now, My ps2 is fixed, and i need two expansions bad, anyone know what i can do?
7. Damn U again SE for making one of the greatest games ever on that damn hard drive.

its sad. the reason nobody uses the harddrive is because there are few games for it. if the people who made the games actually got off there asses and made games that utilised the hdd then more people would get one.

FFXI should have the same shelf life as other games and they should continue to make HDD from a specialist store where you have to order it and stuff to get it.

More people would actually get it because lots of pepole need to replace there hdds ps2s and new players might wanna try the PS2 format.

Unfortunlately. Sony and SE are just corperate pricks who are out to penny pinch. nuff said. they dont care as long as they make money. and they see the hdd as a failed project.

I was also going to suggest Amazon for CoP, but $78 for ToAU??? I'm sure that will go down when they actually get it in stock for themselves (instead of independent seller).

And, um, the box from ebay .... yeah they may be "scammers" but all you have to do is read the description to realize what you're getting. Sorry you had to learn the hard way.

Just because I'm bored waiting for maint to be over I thought I'd check some of the local canadian online shops.

ToAU for PS2 - Sold out on both
ToAU for PC - Sold out on both

Wow. Makes me glad I pre-ordered.

*Hides both his PS2 and PC copies so no one steals em*

Sorry to hear about you buying a Box Starilae. It does remind me though of the few auctions I've seen where people would bid $300 for a link to get a Xbox 360 for $20 or something similar. The worst I've seen was someone trying to sell a picture of a Xbox 360 :) I don't remember if anyone fell for it or not.

Just gotta watch and read carefully although some of them are really good at making it look like a good dea.

Since you found it I guess I might as well share where I found some CoP for PS2 still available, but more than likely sold out now cause you need CoP to run ToA right?

I had a brief scare, but found a couple one block from my apartment (after searching miles away...), best bet it to call all the stores that might sell it. Found mine and EB Games, Gamespot has already delisted it, and not getting anymore in the metro detroit area. I don't know if that is all the stores though, I do know that some stores didn't get any copies FTW???

On my weekly runs to find some good games (why I bother I don't know) I could a couple PS2 copies of CoP and ToAU. They can still be found, its just a pain.

Of course its really hard to find copies of FFXI for the PS2. Only a few stores still have it and thats because they can't get rid of it.

I've got a full copy all items for the PS2. too bad I can't find anyone who'd be willing to trade the whole kit for a Xbox copy :)

While I was in Las Vegas a few weeks ago, Frys Electronics had A LOT of CoP in stock, thats where I got my brother's copy cause I made the mistake of not getting one earlier before they were delisted.

They might have a lot of extra ToA since I found it odd that they carried that many CoP copies still wrapped on the shelves.

Doing what? Removing them from the shelves and delisting them rather quickly for a new game?

Buy an XBOX 360 and pay $50 to get the game and all three expansions. Heck, if you have to buy another PS2 plus the expansions anyway, then you might as well buy an XBOX 360 instead. At least then you'll have two different consoles rather than two of the same brand... and you'll get FFXI in HD.
