So I got ToAU today, brought it home, popped it into my CD-RW drive and............. NOTHING. The machine's acting like there's no disc in the drive at all.
I took the disc out, put it into my normal CD drive... nothing. Same thing. Windows Explorer is acting like there's nothing going on.

I tried re-booting, no fixy. I tried putting a different CD in both drives, they both recognized the disc.

Is anyone else getting this problem???? If so, have you fixed it?? If so, HOW!?

I am sooooooooooooooooooo confused right now.

What the heck kinda computer do you have with no DVD drive?
CD drives are SOOO 1990's.

This is what you do.
-Buy a DVD drive for you computer at Wal-mart.
-Install ToAH.
-Bring the DVD drive BACK to Wal-mart with reciept in hand.
-Get refund.
-Log on and get humped by my Corsair.

I have to buy a DVD-ROM drive to install the expansion. Funny how nobody mentioned that little clusterf*ck before I bought the goddamn expansion.

SE lost BIG f*cking points with me today over this. This is so stupid... having to buy a new drive just to install a simple expansion... Why they couldn't have just put it on 2 or 3, or even 20 CD's, I don't know. F*cking SE.

unfortunatly... yes, or to be more accurate, you need to aquire a DVD-ROM drive in some way shape or form that we won't be concerned with.

but yes, they are pretty cheap now-a-days, you can get one for pretty much the same price as a CD-ROM drive, (read: around $50)

alternatly this is what i told my friend to do (his DVD-ROM stopped working)

find a friend with a computer/laptop that has a DVD-ROM in it (it was me in this case) and have them bring it over, get it on the network, share the DVD drive, and map it on your computer, now you can run the setup.exe from your computer and it will act as though the drive was on your machine.

Don't rate me down because you lack the damn ability to read a f#cking box. Its been mentioned before that the expansion is on DVD. Does SE have to drill that through your thick skull, or shove it up your narrow ***?

20 CD's? What are you, Amish? Another person that obviously don't know whether they should equip their panties on their *** or their head.

Stupidy ftw!! ^^

In all my reading from SE, etc... I have yet to see "This release is on DVD." Barch, you were cool as hell in my book, but you just lost my respect. I won't stoop to your level and start throwing out insults.

I got my DVD drive, installed it, I'm good to go. The reason I didn't have a DVD drive prior to this is that I built my own system about a year and a half ago. I had scalped parts from my previous system (just the CD and CD-RW drive), and didn't have a DVD drive at the time. I had absolutely NO reason whatsoever to buy a DVD drive until today. None of my games are on DVD, I have 3 DVD players hooked up in various places in my house, so I really didn't need one on my box.

Problem solved. Yeah, my own dumb fault for not looking at the box thoroughly and seeing the big "DVD" sticker on it. I guess that's exactly what I get for assuming. Never going to make that mistake again. Of course now I have a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, and CD-RW drive on my computer, so I think I've got my bases covered for the time being.

To those of you who bought the expansion without having a DVD drive first, take note.

Do you ever go to Main Forum? There was about 2 or 3 threads saying "ToAH is DVD Only."

Sorry I lost your respect, but you lost cool points coming here venting because you didn't even read your own purchase. Also, sorry for jumping on ya, I'm just tired of hearing people ***** about this game without putting thought into the situation.

I got the last copy of ToAH at Best Buy today.
Got home to install it.

"Cannot Read Disc" x 50

I was pissed, but I remembered all the crap I did to my PS2 with HD Loader. I thought that was the problem.
Nope, darn lens just needed a bath. Got the isopropyl alcohol and q-tip and now I'm installing!!

See you guys soon.

And Elanria, again, sorry if I hurt ya feelings. I have a heart, its just stuck somewhere up my ***.

Wow Ayazz, I have the same problem.

Called up last night, on we're sorry we only have the 360 version, the PC/PS2 copies didn't come in.

I ordered both, I would have been happy with either the Ps2 or the PC copy till the others came in but nooooooooo...

#@$%$#@#%^$#&^*&%$@$#%$ is all I have to say about it.

Edit: Side note. Did the packaging say what the format was?

Most games that I've picked up have a little section on the box that tells the system requirements. Usually will tell there what the format of the disks are if its not stickered in big black and white like some games have.

The UK version says it once clearly on the front corner of the box, once at the top of the spine, twice in the system requirements (1 in minimum, 1 in recommended) and once on the disk. That plus the minimum of 15 seperate threads about how ToAU is on DVD in the main forum - might've given him a clue, ya think lol
