Wife Aggro - Run Away!Follow

I caught aggro from the NM "Wife". I tried to throw a pet at it but they couldn't even begin to keep hate (FYI, sorry to the cats, I know they don't like being thrown like that). I tried to zone to the living room but it followed, still aggro. Shutting down the computer seemed to take the edge off the aggro. Instead it was keeping an eye on me. It seems to have a permanent "Perfect Dodge" as well as very high magic immunity. I highly advise that it is avoided at all costs as all I hear it drops is something called "alimony settlement" which is ex (yes, you can get more than one) and unable to be thrown away. It is rumored that it somehow decreases the amout of gil you get but I'm not sure how it works exactly. Feeding it chocolate also seems to reduce the amount of aggro you receive but not always.

I heard that the NM wife loses aggro if you trade it 2 items. They are not ex so you can get them at AH. You will need a PS2 and a copy of FFXI. When you trade these 2 items to the NM, it loses defense and can be charmable. You need to have BST pretty high to do this though, and lots of charisma buffs. Wearing speedos and a tie give you +23 chr.
Warning though: if you decide to try to charm the NM, it will never lose the charm again, so whatever you do in FFXI, the wife will do it with you. It will also ask for help with the subjob quest and will ask you and your friends to come kill the rank 3 dragon. She will also tell you that the ridiculously looking Scorpion Harness you have doesn't match your complexion.
Good luck!

NM Wife not only resisted the PS2 & FFXI but went into rage mode when the credit card bill came and showed the attempted charm tools as an expense.

I have noticed that it can be brought out of rage mode (for a time anyway) by charming the little one that hangs around with her, aka our 5 month old son.

dude.....Wife is a lv 89 HNM++++.....WTF WE'RE YOU THINKING?

once you charm it, you will fall victim to the Shoe Shop tp move. she will use it in battle, forcing you to beat out the other Wife NMs for a special item that only Wife can use (yes, there are more than 1 type of Wife)

NM wife also seems to be of the same mob family as NM domestic partner. I also tried charm and failed miserably. It is also highly resistant to Silence. However, I have found that camping this NM for one full day each week reduces it's agro.

If you guys were using the right "broad-sword" in battle then you would not get so much "wife" aggro.

Whip that broad sword out when she's mad and you will most likely lose it. Rumor has it that's what happened to Mr. Bobbit.

As a reformed - but not defeated hehe, *Wife* aggro[vator} NM, I can tell you the strategy that my husband used on me. My husband threw one copy of FFXI and playonline registration at me one night last year after receiving daily [aggro] from me.

My hitpoints were pretty high to begin with and I resisted; but BAM! I took enough *damage over time* to allow him to [run away] and continue alive and intact on his journey in game while I journey on in Van a Diel.

However please be cautioned! Using these tactics can be damaging! There were some lingering results due to my continual use of FFXI. This includes AOE damage which from time to time causes him to lose some of his [weapon skill] [broad sword]; his [mog house] is a mess and there is no [food] in the AH.

/cheers!

(p.s. he plays a different online game - but the effects are the same *wink)

Some Wife NM's have this special move called "Do your chores or else". Its the type of move that is very hard to ignore and like some of the god mobs the more you fight it the stronger it gets.

Wife NM's have some strange aggro ranges. Mention that you're going to go to a friends and she'll be calm as a kitten letting you go on your marry way. Mention that you've made plans with some online friends and she'll hound you for days with the "You play too much" Move.

I use to have wife aggro, I find that the following line seems to work well at getting rid of "Aggro"...

"It rubs the lotion on it's skin"

P.S. Fat guy in a lil skin!

I found a cheat code!! If you preform 'Kiss' the wife is stunned long enough for you to despawn her from the camp area and lock her out. >.>
