Starts tonight, 8/7 Central. Should be interesting, with Weird Al and Ricky Gervais.

No Al or Ricky. Yet.

So far it was like a poor quality Men in Tights. Maybe it will get better?

The only humor was all caught up in song with that stupid melody that carried right through the commercials.

I was probably expecting too much from free telly.

I'll give it another week at least, I mean it's only a 4 ep miniseries right? So even if it's bad it'll be over quick. Especially since there was no football on last night I had nothing better to watch anyway. Smiley: tongue

Could have been better. I wasn't expecting a musical. The music wasn't bad.

Week 2: It's not getting any better. Maybe worse. The music is very repetitive ...as are the jokes. The Executioner's were ok.

I like the music. Smiley: frown

It's a slightly broader Men in Tights. I like how campy it is.

Honestly, for a 4 part series, I'm enjoying it. Not that I had super high expectations anyway, of course. It does miss a bit here and there, but I suspect that has something to do with editing to make it more family friendly (Sunday night on a broadcast network after all). The billing was calling it a mix of Monty Python and Mel Brooks, and if you've ever seen any of their stuff on broadcast TV, it often misses as well. I noticed that they had stuff bleeped and fuzzed in parts, which makes me suspect that the unedited version will contain a lot more material and probably be a lot more funny. Or not. Hard to tell.

That was almost a criminal under-use of Weird Al.

Yes. And what they did use of him wasn't as good as it could have been. Jazz hands! Smiley: frown

Edit:
I enjoyed Ricky's episode more. (These are actually 30 minute long episodes, doubled up I guess, judging by the episode titles).

Well, I was expecting more from the Weird Al episode and was quite disappointed by it, and the rest of the episodes were pretty mediocre overall. I can't imagine it getting renewed for a second season, though weirder things have happened.

The music was catchy, at least.
