So I'm a bit bored, maybe hasty is more like it. Had the afternoon to myself and went to watch X-Men. It was actually a pretty good movie. If anything I was more intrigued how Fox was going to adapt the comic story and essentially reboot the in-universe events. Story kept my attention and for the most part I was actually pretty happy they hand waved things in\out like Magneto magically getting his powers back, Professor X getting his body back after Phoenix atomized him, Shadowcat getting the consciousness time warp powers.
I have read arguements on both sides on whether the movie rights to the X-Men should or should not be bought back by Marvel Studios and honestly I think after having watched this the X-Men rights really should stay with Fox. Marvel is doing its own thing and I'm kinda happy the clusterf*** of X-Men and Mutants in general isn't apart of it.
Putting in characters like Bishop, Warpath, Sunfire, and Blink was cool but really that's about all they were good for. That and fodder for the Sentinels... Watching the future team with all their powers die horrible deaths was cringe-worthy. Apparently Halle Berry isn't the box office draw she used to be because she had less time and lines in the movie than all four of the previously mentioned characters...
If you have time this weekend I'd go see it. Why it took six movies to finally get the formula right is beyond me.
