Come here to talk with the few people who read various American comic books & Japanese Manga. Sometimes people will read the same comics as you & will talk with you about it.

But mostly its 5 or 6 of us wanking each other off.

I suppose we can rest assured that Ichigo won't get killed, but perhaps it's time for another meeting with his Zanpakutou in that other world.

Maybe his inner hollow will try and uproot him again, although his state of mind isn't as messed up as it was the last time that happened.

I doubt that the Vaizard will come help him, they'll be focused on Aizen, if Kisuke hasn't given them any orders stating otherwise. They owe him some payback I suppose. They should be just as powerful if not more than the Captains, it's best to keep them as back-up.

I had to stop reading Bleach when I realised the trend of stacking one deus-ex machina on top of another, the formulaic battles (Ichigo gets cut the @#%^ up, learns some badass move he couldn't learn without losing most of his spirit-blood and then pounds whoever he was fighting), the total inconsistency of power levels of characters coupled with explosive growth of everyone for really no reason at all (and no, I don't mean Ichigo here, I could accept it if it was just him) apart from the fact that the author was short-sighted enough to make his character become incredibly powerful very quickly yet still wanted to give him seemingly insurmountable battles in rapid succession, was not going to stop at any point.

I believe the author said he doesn't plan the plot ahead and @#%^ me it shows. Jesus H Christ.

Unfortunately, most of these types of anime/mangas are pretty formulaic. Ordinary person gets/discovers extraordinary powers/abilities, person gets defeated by someone with better powers/abilities, person gets/discovers/is taught even greater powers, goes on to defeat previous other person, repeat steps two through four. All we can really hope for is either an interesting story driving said formula, or in case of a parody of the formula (like One Piece), laughs.

Well, it might get interesting next week, I'm not even sure any Captain is powerful enough to stand up to Ulquiorra in his espada² form.

How far away is the anime from the manga right now, and are they still in filler mode? I've got about 20 episodes to catch up on and I don't want it to be like the time I downloaded and watched 15~ episodes of shippuden only to have them almost all be filler.. (or so fail that they seemed like filler.)

At current the anime is at episode -99 of the manga. Almost at an end of the flashback episodes. You could say chapter 314 if they'ld have kept the regular count, latest chapter released was 349 btw, so there's some time before a new filler I hope.

Meh, it'd be more interesting if you couldn't predict what's going to happen.

And I swear, if it's another godamn filler about playing soccer or baking a cake, I'll go to Japan and personally maim each and every person associated with the production.

I should have gone with the obvious answer: Ichigo will somehow tranform into something even more powerful.

This time with long hair.

And once it's in the anime, it'll be about four weeks worth of him screaming and powering up and everyone standing around being totally amazed.

Yeah, also one that won't really inspire much amazement in his friends. At this point, we're not even sure if it's really Ichigo or in what state he's in.

Finally, the Vaizards enter the scene.

Those captains sure are fairly useless though, poor Ukitake, I do wonder where Urahara is.

The problem I see is that the Vizard aren't very well developed as far as combat prowess. Jushiro and Shunsui are the 3rdf and fourth if not 2nd and 3rd most powerful captains. They were struggling against the Primera. Hitsugaya and Soifon are fairly competent and struggled against the 2nd and 3rd Espada. Sure, many of the Vizard used to be captain level, but now they've got the devilish trio, the espada, and Wonderweiss to deal with. It's a tough sale to believe they're capable of taking that.

Straw Hat is overdue for a combat appearance, so it's quite possible he may join in the Karakura fight.

As for Yami? 50% chance Kenpachi decides to go again, 30% chance Unohana my show off her stuff (but only if he's truly 0 level), 10% friends of Ichigo take him on and 10% Kisuke decides to open up a portal to Las Noches.

And 110% chance we find out Aizen was just being manipulated by an even greater force.

I'm pretty sure that the Vaizards are about as powerful as that hollow Ichigo, if not more powerful. Ofcourse, that was against the fourth espada, so no idea if that would be enough against that Wonderweiss who just took out a captain with one casual blow.

Shunsui for some reason hasn't gotten to bankai yet, I doubt he's out for the fight against that Primera.

I am still hoping Kisuke joins the fight and shows his bankai, I recall he once told Sado that he couldn't train him as his bankai was too lethal.

I did expect all the fights to get a bit dragged out more, it seemingly goes rather swiftly to be honest. (especially compared to the fighting Ichigo and co did in Las Noches)

A lot of back & forth here, but I liked this chapter. Aizen FINALLY makes an appearance, as do the Vizhards.

By all rights, the captains shouldn't be doing crap to the Espada outside of Bankai. So, I'd say they've done a good job holding them off so far. Remember, Ichigo was stronger than Grimmjow in Hollow-Mask-Bankai form (god that sounds *****) so the Vizhards should be on par with the Espada, even when they release.

Kisuke & Yourichi should be showing up soon to help out the Captains while, pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease, hopefully we'll see Kenpachi's bankai vs Yammi.

If you recall, a long time ago, Shinji was fighting grimmjow. Even though he said he was not holding back, it really seemed like he was taking it easy. If though grimmjow did not release, it's pretty obvious that Shinji could of probably easily handled him. That being said it took Ichigo a lot of work to defeat Grimmjow. Also, we should assume Shinji posses bankai since he was a former captain.

I still expect another god out of the machine down the road.

They're definitely as strong as the hollow Ichigo that fought Grimmjow. Ichigo's a prodigy of some kind, so I'm not sure if the remaining Vaizards are as powerful as the Ichigo that went berserk and killed of that fourth espada Ulquiorra.

To be of any use to the story though, they'ld have to be a lot stronger than Ichigo's level against Grimmjow, seriously stronger.

It's ofcourse very difficult to judge the strength of a character based on previous fights.
