Is it just me, or were Erza and Wendy dressed up as Tifa and Squall during that play? Also, Mashima left a conveniently wide gap between "they're in the new guild building taking a bath" and the start of the new arc. Thar be filler episodes!

Also, boob jokes and Cana gropage.

Too bad they didn't ask for Lucy and Natsu, then their universe could have imploded.

So it looks like Bleach is having its last call. Confirmed in this weeks issue of jump. Here and here. Rough translation is as follows:

After this weeks issue, Bleach will be on hiatus from Jump 35-40. Starting from jump 41 (09/09), the last arc "1000 years Blood Ward Arc - The Separation Story" will start.

Before the last battle, i will be going on a long hiatus so that I can approach the final battle fully charged and give it my absolute all. When the manga resumes, please prepare yourselves for the "1000 years Blood Ward Arc - The Separation Story".

Edit: This week's issue is 34 fyi

As much as I want the trolling to stop Im going to miss it.

Edit:
Bleach: Nothing much, lead up to the end, ends on cliffhanger

Naruto: Saske and Naruto about to get pwned cept daddy is going to save him or something. Meh.

Bleach On Hiatus for a month and a half ish. OP is on break next week I think, Naruto should get a double/triple chapter but Shonen Jump is stupid and doesnt work like that.

One Piece: I like to imagine the fight as Raging Bull, but with Pesci and DeNiro swapping roles and then combining to become Stallone.
Naruto: Of course someone with the power of the founder of Ninjutsu is going to be able to use many element natures at one time. Also the Second Hokage's paper bomb attack reminds me of the self-replicating minefield from DS9.

One Piece is just moving chess pieces around. Almost like filler. Naruto suddenly turned Obito into Akira, and still a hack self insert author avatar. And Bleach is on hiatus for five weeks because @#%^ you we can't end this ride yet. At least Fairy Tail is pumping out pages for another week or so.

Oh, and mangahere has been hit with the License Cease and Desist or whatever, so back to mangastream for me. Shame, I really liked the bookmarks.

Yup, I was very sad when I went to read it and got cockblocked.

Bleach: Boring set up, and we wait til September. Meh. Yet I'll still miss it...

So Initial D is over if anyone here read it in the past; the last chapter was only 9 pages long and the art looks bad IMO. Never read the series so I don't know if that's the norm for both.

Yes to the bad art, no to the length if I remember right.

Initial D is quite possibly the ugliest manga ever to be made into an anime, but then again Japan wouldn't surprise me otherwise.

What you don't like is the art style. The art itself is nowhere near anything that could be called bad.

Also the anime is awesome and you should all watch it. I can only hope we get a movie for the final race.

I actually love the music from Initial D. (Well, the JP version, They used completely different music in the dub for reasons I cannot fathom.) I have four or five of the soundtracks kicking around here. (Mikado! King of the light! *jams*) And this very very very famous early Internet meme... thing.... uses Running in the 90s.

But... the art is below the standard usually found in popular, HQ series. Most manga artists who have done extremely long running series have shown a noticeable shift, usually an improvement, in their art. And while the art in Initial D has definitely improved over the last decade, it's still not very beautiful stylistically.

You downloaded the wrong version of the dub, lol. You want funimation, not tokyopop. Same music, and they didn't change the names to be silly. And yes, eurodance is awesomeness. Deja Vu, Running in the 90s, Night of Fire, Rage my Dream, everything my m.o.v.e., etc.

The art isn't anything special, yeah. But why are commenting on the people and not the cars? :3 Honestly I don't care for the manga, it's purpose to to provide material to create the anime. I didn't like when they skipped some stuff that I was looking forward to in stage 5 though.

Didn't download anything - I watched it in anime club a decade or so ago. Glad to hear that they treated the original series with more respect for a re-do.

The cars are great though! Technically excellent. But I'm not the kind of person who reads a manga for the props. (Even if Hachi Roku is the Japanese version of Herbie.)

Initial D's music was good, but as I'm not much of a car aficionado, much less racing, there wasn't anything else in it for me.
