We did not "Jack" Your zone. it is absolutely BULLsh*t to reserve a dynamis zone 1-2 Months in advance, @#%^ it, some Linkshells have zones reserved for the SUMMER! it's BS, that's not how us Garudians Work. I will not support a Third Party website in anyway. First come, First Serve, thats all there is to it. there is way to many dynamis zones now because of this merge to use and organize events on a lame "RustyBuckets" Website. Seriously? WTF is a rustybucket. Yes we are a large numbered dynamis shell, we get in and get it done. If you seriously think that posting on a forum is going to stop a linkshell with 100 members getting party invites and mission's done, then you are in for a surprise. Yes, im happy to see some of our linkshell Members sticking up for ForgottenSouls, I appreciate this. Seriously Deathfather, we could have reasoned the zone, I was up for that, however you came onto us with a **** *** attitude. I /tell most linkshell leaders before i do a zone to see what there doing, however not you, you dont want any part of it. It was you and your attitude that lost the zone for your members, you are the one to blame.

Edit lol you spelt half the ls members names wrong, Fail

wow this is still going... you know, i'm a pretty optimistic kind of person. Here I thought to myself:

"Ok, new beginnings!, New people to play with! New possibilities! Sounds like a great time to come back and start playing after a good (somewhat forced, but enjoyable) 7-8 month break!"

Now i myself have a good variety of 75 jobs to endgame with, and they are in need of some end game equip...

But if this is the attitude i'm gonna see in the Dynamis aspect of the game, then i'm better off scratching dynamis off my list for now. Do I need dynamis relic armor on my jobs? oh yes I do, but at what price?

This?

Perhaps waiting till this is all settled may be the best time to join in on the dyna action.

And yes I am one of those people that likes to spam Xarcabard :)

I'm not even part of the Dynamis scene and I hear random friends ***** about their groups getting zonejacked constantly.

Maybe people don't ***** openly about it anymore, but they certainly do in private.

Personally, I usually just eyeroll at these people and tell them at least they get the chance to do Dynamis and get any relic at all. So far this hasn't worked in stopping the *****************

Are you in need of a Dynamis shell?

Ok having been doing dynamis solid for a few years now (call out to LoO) on Lakshmi, the RB system has served us well many times. To all the Garuda shells, I'd suggest you start using it, and work out differences in schedules with other shells. Things are usually scheduled 30~60 days in advanced, but if you desire a certain zone on a certain day ask that shells leader and they'll usually work with you. We try not to schedule anything more then 60 days out because then the schedule system turns into a cluster f!ck (its happened once before). This system can work, it has worked and it will work. Also many shells try to avoid hogging the same zones over and over again as it just results in massive pain and zone jacking from all involved.

No, I'm in need of something to play FFXI on that doesn't blow *** and crash in any big fights (read: any fight inside Dynamis)

I've read many of the posts but not one of the former Garuda people mentioned a very important fact, and that is most of the Garduda Dynamis linkshells also had their runs scheduled in advanced, sometimes by whole months. The server merge messed up a lot, but why should the Lakshmi newbies be the only ones to lose out on their scheduled runs? We all had things planned that SE messed up. It's really unrealistic to expect the new Lakshmians to roll over and accept that these runs they've been planning for weeks and months are now out the window because the old Lakshmis can't move their butts a little faster to claim the zone. Honestly, if I ran a dynamis ls I'd be scheduling these runs about 30 minutes earlier so that I'd have a better chance of getting in.

Somehow, I just noticed this:

You have 100 members in your Dynamis Linkshell?

You're doing it wrong.

Grow up... A list of people from an LS that took your zone? Really? Most of those people didn't have a choice and probably didn't even realize what was happening... Before you post names of poeple on the internet that "Took your zone" maybe get the persons name that was truly responsible. Dear lord.

P.S. I didn't read any of the other posts in this thread.

Two things:

1) Hixc is indeed stupid. The only people that are more stupid than he, are those that he has in his dynamis shell getting him a relic. Why people follow this ****** is beyond me.

2)Putting up a dynamis calendar as your server has done is great and all, but at the same time potentially dangerous. If someone does not conform to your calender (Doesn't put their schedule on your calendar), you have essentially given them access to all dynamis planning. They can easily jack any zone they want at any time they want because they now know when everyone is doing dynamis. They can plan accordingly.

With that being said, Dynamis is old content. Outside of a couple relic armor pieces and those using entire linkshells to upgrade their relic weapons, who really does this crap anymore?

its not about conforming to RB's calendar - its simply about.. well, simplicity. Of course not everyone uses it, and especially with the new influx of shells that would be impossible. The shells who do use it, do so out of respect for each other in an attempt to get the zones they want without the drama. Everyone loses zones sometimes, its part of the game. When more than 1 shell tries to reserve a zone, the leaders are given ample time to work it out amongst themselves, knowing who will be competing for the zone that day. Thats the plus side! When 2 shells show up at the same time, its a matter of skill who can get the people/jobs together in time to not waste an HG just to say they claimed the zone. Naming the people in the zone at the time you lost in hopes of marking them with some form of stigma is silly. A) you could be wrong B) you do yourself more harm than them cuz you are now known alla-wide (to start) as a sore loser.

Use the calendar, or dont - noone really cares too much to be honest. this thread wasnt supposed to start a rage against the users or non-users of a convenient-for-some system :) It was to point out the members of a shell who won a race against time. Good job guys.

Ooh! Sabotage? Conspiracy? Now the FFXI plot gets good!

Agreed, and like i said, i am willing to work with other leaders. there are alot of dynamis linkshells in Lakshmi now, within 2-3 months a few may either disband or merge, because there is no way this many linkshells is going to work out. maybee Then i will think about a calendar, but untill then, im willing to resolve zone reservations not of the day of a scheduled event, in game. we Run Mon and Thur @ 6:30EST.

To use or not to use the calender system really comes down to two things. Do you want your zones or not? If the new shells do not use the calender then they'll have a very hard time getting into any reserved zones. They'll get them the first time or two, but then their names and start times will get passed around the server. All the dynamis leaders are on speaking terms with each other due to successfully cooperating with each other the past 3 or so ~YEARS~. Your run times and locations will be known and everyone will start entering early or otherwise holding the zone in order to prevent it from being jacked. This isn't an if, its a when. There was once a time when different shells though they could bypass the calender system and try to do their own thing ... there is a reason most of them shriveled up and died.

If your concerned with that Lakshmi LS's are scheduled out 30 days in advance (the gentlemen's agreement is to not schedule more then 60) then contact RB and get your LS registered / on the calender. Then you can work out with the various shells a way to share different time slots and zones. But if your trying to do northlands all the damn time your in for a sore surprise, most of the shells try to split / alternate northlands so everyone gets a chance. Being greedy will only result in other shells showing up early or scheduling earlier which is bad blood for everyone involved.

We are not using a calendar, done deal. I don't mind discussing zones from leader to leader in game, which I have been doing with a few of the linkshells going around my time. however you come to a zone like Deathfather did, and immediately start calling us "zone jackers", then don't waste your time with me. We don't use the calendar, so you can't assume we jacked your zone, when i didn't know you reserved it.

This comes across as a bit stubborn to me. You claim that you're willing to work with other linkshells who have runs scheduled the same days you do, before the day of the event, but you can't be bothered to even look at the RB calendar. The problem I see with this is that the RB calendar is the best tool we have to see which linkshells have planned to run, in which zone, and when they plan to do it.

If you don't schedule your runs on the calendar, other linkshells don't know when and where you're going to run. And if you won't even look at the calendar, there's a very good chance you won't know when and where other shells will run either, until you meet and end up in an angry confrontation at the trail markings, which is what seemed to have happened in this case.

I think Pud hit the nail on the head when he said this:

Quote:
Since the beginning of civilised society people have organised around problems. Big events where only so many people can attend are usually pre-booked (Paid or unpaid). You don't just turn up on the door and fight it out.

It's really amazing that the player base has taken it upon themselves to create a civilized approach to an event that is "first come first serve" as far as game mechanics are concerned. The Rusty Buckets calendar doesn't only have to be used as a method of reserving zones. It's also a very simple method of allowing others to know your schedule. I think many of us agree that it's easier on everyone to work out zone conflicts before it becomes a problem. With that said, if you're one of those people, I urge you to at least take a look at the calendar before you run. It doesn't take long to load up a bookmark, to see that shell x is planning to run in the same zone the same time you are. You then have plenty of time to work things out with that shell. Choose a different zone for that day, talk to their leader and see if they could choose a different zone for that day, or whatever works for you as a way to resolve the conflict.
