I genuinely could not be happier with this result. It is only slightly less comical than taking the T-man from the ballot only to see him being written in come election time.

I am not even a Trump supporter and I find the celebration time of this non-event, well, funny.

It changes nothing at best. At worst, it guarantees his presidency.

Great job everyone!

The question is: Are you celebrating this because you think it's a good ruling? Or because you really dislike Trump?

I just feel like it's terribly shortsighted to cheer rulings by judges that set precedents that are incredibly problematic for our entire system of government, if your reason is "I don't like the guy". Justice should be blind. Pretend it's your favorite person in the world on the stand, then ask if you think the ruling was a good one. If your answer isn't the same, then the problem is you.

Inevitably, someday, it will be someone you like, and whose politics you agree with, who will be on the receiving end of the precedent you are cheering today. So maybe think things through a bit here.

Yeah...if my friend is committing felonies left and right then I will go ahead and cheer that the system works when the courts do their job right and find them guilty based on the evidence.

I certainly hope it makes you sleep better at night when this 'novel legal theory' elects Trump into office. I try to be reasonable, but the guy did so much over the course of his life ( and that includes fraud that did not require novel legal theory ) and the best "the system" could do was the equivalent of a parking ticket. No offense, but I was expecting effin house of cards deal, where he is revealed at least as a voldemort level evildoer. And that was all happening while Biden's ( jr ) plea deal THAT did show ridiculous preferential treatment and was only scrapped after judge noticed how ridiculous beneficial it was to the defendant.

System works. I suppose it does. Who does it work for though, bcause it sure af isnt for me.

tldr: yeah, congrats. have a cookie
