Anyone got it?

It's not gotten to Maine. Supposedly testing will begin today.

It's just getting started in my state for the most part. I don't know anybody that has caught it yet.

Well, as of yesterday, South Dakota has 4 reported cases and one death (olde person).

All of whom were overseas about 3 weeks ago.

I've had a head cold for the last few days. I had a dentist appt. scheduled for yesterday that I cancelled. So, there's my contribution to slow the spread.

I'm not at all surprised but really disappointed that trump screwed things up so badly. Dam this guy is paranoid. I suspect mother issues.

Update: Maine just announced it's first positive case....

Man things got crazy quick.

At the moment I'm working in my one-person office. I feel safe Smiley: blush. I have been pressured to cancel all my work through mid-April however as it all involves 'gatherings'. So, I'll probably shut down the office and babysit my grandbaby for awhile as his daycare has closed (Smiley: yippee)

There's this daft local Mayor pressuring the state to remove it's plastic bag ban - he claims reuse bags spread germs (I think he's full of poo) what do you think? I'm sure it's possible for bag to carry a viable germ from one individual to another, but it's an extremely unlikely pathway. I'm in the habit of bringing my own bag now - I'm not going back.

I'm surprised that home quarantines and all the news gossip hasn't brought more back to this forum for a palaver.

How's the social distancing going? I don't think I've gone this long without some sort of fast-food, deli-food, restaurant food or gas station food since reaching adulthood. Hubby's been cooking up a storm. I'm pretty sure my weight is up, but my chronic heartburn is mostly gone.

I have a job - I made the mistake of calling around to see who wanted all the N95 masks that my organization has - now I'm a collection person. This makes me feel useful - without putting myself at risk.

Anyone sick yet?

Hiya, Elinda!!Smiley: flowers

Not sick.

The homeless shelter I work at is still running as usual (with the addition of a forehead thermometer).

The social distancing is totes easy because that's my normal life anyway. BADUM-TISS.

No illness here. Working from home, although I'm making a run to the office today to do some stuff I can't do from my living room. I'll be the only one there, though. Working from home is a pain in the ass since every errant thought anyone has turns into a text/email conversation instead of a two-second spoken exchange. We were pretty well stocked by the time the Shelter in Place came down. Just working through our bajillion eggs.

Home is where all my stuff is.

I'm in the tail-end of my post deployment allergy attack, which has panicked more than one food delivery person.

Yeah, allergy season doesn't help.

Time seems to have s l o w e d down. We've been watching English Narrowboat Canal Cruiser Blogs on the telly - seems to match the pace of current life.

Dinner time yet?

Hey I'm alive too. Still just AIDS as far as I can tell.

Was sick a month ago and it was just a really terrible ear infection. Not gonna lie, a temp of 102F had me really worried.

Still throwing books around the library, though right now we are on 'paid time off' so got myself quarantined nicely away in my room and pretty much just chilling on my ps4.

psn= g0dless420 ... ya know if you want to not be my friend

March has been the longest month ever! Will anyone be attempting a Coronavirus themed April Fools joke - or would that be callous?

What do you think will be the long-term outcome of this pandemic?

I came to check up on people. I have been staying home for weeks now, but for one day where I had to have two emergency root canals. Thankfully the Dental Board has made sure dentists are open at least a few hours a day to handle emergencies since they don't want people going to the ER.

Found a new dentist who did such good work, I only had to take the Motrin he prescribes me twice. The second one I could have skipped and not suffered as long as I didn't bite down.

Our Governor (MD) has been smart about shutting the state down to all but essential travel. That means putting off making mock-ups of corsets with my daughter until things settle down, and it's safe again to see people. Until then, I have lots of craft projects I can do and jewelry supplies for at least one crown. My daughter and I are making new court gowns for the Queen of the Maryland Unseelies and the Queen Mother, which we hope to someday enter into a competition. Since we can't do fittings anytime soon, they won't go into a virtual masquerade at a virtual convention the Baltimore Science Fiction Society is having instead of hosting 1,200 to 1,500 people in close quarters.

I don't have it AFAIK.

But it seems to be asymptomatic for some for weeks so we shouldn't, even if "not having it" think that we don't actually have it. Your last words to your grandmama might be "I'm asymptomatic, grandmama! It's impossible you'd die from this!"

Your grandmama's last words "hrk, hrk....i hate u with evry ounce of breath...i i i'm dead from ur virus"

Best practices are expecting that you have it. Don't be a selfish *******, flailing your droplets and genitalia all over others in the grocery or workplace or health services center.

As far as isolating goes, Peanut butter is 10,000 calories for just five pounds or so, and cheap like $6. I'm currently in my apartment with my peanut butter and almost impossible amount of cheese products and have my knife at ready. [seriously, anyone reading this does need to also prepare for defending themselves against desperate starving people. And may I recommend caltrops].

But I also have a steady paltry stream of income via my SSDI, and Section 8. So, best of luck to you all. Don't flail your genitalia. Wearing masks isn't just to protect you, it's also to protect your grandmama who might haunt you as a ghost forever if you came by without a mask and was "hi grandmama" and plagued her and then she died.

Yes, my persona here is that I always know best. But that doesn't disqualify my advice. And yes, morons all over America (and whatever backwater places foreigners here call home) are ignoring advice. Including being asymptomatic, or only wearing a mask if symptomatic. Including boldly taking themselves to old people sites, thinking if they aren't coughing they don't carry it. Stop that shit, yo.

And also let me just predict I'm actually ahead of you on suggesting our lovely fellow posters start to think about home-defense including knives and caltrops.

Or maybe you'll just hang your limp cock out the window for everyone during a global pandemic and possible utter collapse of society to chop off and eat and then smash your window and eat your family.

This isn't a fucking joke. Beloved Allakhazam posters, and you, need to plan for violence.
