I pointed out to someone the other day that people getting their drivers' licenses this year have never lived in a world where 9/11 was not a thing.

Cute kid, Nexa! Kid has your looks, thank goodness.

I'm sure the Pearl Harbor people felt the same way, and hopefully we can speed our way through and have 9/11 regarded as just a footnote in history as well.

Mine recently started second grade, so won't be long before she starts rebelling against her parents and such.

Hope the smiles were just as big after the school day. I'd imagine so though, kindergarten is pretty fun. Little expert on all things involving paste and colors is incoming.

Yeah. March of time. Progress. Whatever. Same deal with the whole "where were you when JFK was shot".

I watched a couple of the obligatory 9/11 documentaries this last weekend, and I was more struck by the fact that teens (and even many young 20 somethings) don't remember the event themselves personally. So I suppose they did grow up in a "post 9/11 world", but that also means that it was always something that happened in the past to them, not something they experienced. Not sure how significant that is, or how it changes their perception or world view though.

EDIT: Oh! Cute kid. Grats on successful procreation, start of offspring matriculation, etc... Smiley: smile

I don't feel my not being around for the Hindenburg really negatively affects my perception of the world. If anything, more jokes about exploding dirigibles is always a good thing. I guess maybe people that were there could be offended, but I'm good with our kids laughing at 9/11 jokes.
