You know they'd compare the two if it happened. Linky.

Pacific NW roots? Check.
Female Politician? Check.
Mother? Check.
Downs syndrome child? You betcha.

I know nothing about Mrs. Rodgers (what's in a name anyway?) other than what I just read in that article. I'm assuming there's a more stringent vetting process this time around. I'm suppose I'm a little surprised to see them considering a candidate that similar at first glance. She'd have to contrast herself pretty heavily with her predecessor I'd imagine. Just the press talking it up though? I'm not really up to speed on who the campaign is actually considering these days.

Slow news day which will lead to god knows how many pages of "liberal media conspiracy."

There's a zero percent chance Romney will select a woman as his running mate. He's going to pick someone who makes as little a splash as possible and doesn't want weeks of breathless Palin comparisons.

Easy there. Zero chance? His numbers have come up with women quite a bit, but he'll do whatever the marketing guys tell him to when that time comes. If there was a good option from Ohio, I'd say it would be likely. Now the chances that it'll be Cathy Rodgers? Yes, zero. Best part of the puff piece article:

"One Friday morning, she invited CNN into her home as the family was getting ready for the day. Like many working moms, she juggles the responsibility of a demanding career and duties of home life."

Just an ordinary Jane,

Also, is it a requirement for GOP women politicians to have retarded children? I mean, it's clearly a huge asset: This broad, Palin, Barbara Bush....

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

She wouldn't be a stage-stealer like Palin was - so Romney might be able to live with that. She's distinctive in that she's the only woman who has given birth twice while in Congress. I'm not sure if that is proper planning or 'oh crap'.

I raised two babies into toddlers while going to college and working - it was hard, and stupid - both my academics and my mommying suffered because of it. Seems to me like being an effective congresswoman would be even more demanding of time and commitment and therefore more sacrificial for the family. But I suppose that's why they have nannies.

I'd have to listen to her in a serious discussion, not read about her in an article, before forming any opinions regarding her competency.

I mean, I though Palin was perfectly okay when I read about her in that "America's Hottest Governor" article in Newsweek months before she got tapped as veep nominee. It wasn't until she made her acceptance speech that I started laughing my *** off over the decision.

Back in my day, we raised five babies into one toddler. It was the cholera that did it.
