Global warming is a crockFollow

My biggest problem with the whole global warming issue is that many scientists forget that the geological records show that we're still in the very end of an ice age. Our global temperature is going to rise, whether we like it or not. Now, maybe we've accelerated the process, but its not like it wasn't something that wasn't going to happen anyway.

Its useless to try to legislate something that is going to happen either way.

Edit:
For those who want to argue about thermite bringing down the WTC, Bush himself admitted that charges were used to bring down the three towers (WTC 3, 4, and 7 - not just the two towers that the media always discusses, they seem to forget that a 3rd fell). If you don't believe me, listen to a recording of his Sept. 9th (I could be wrong on the date, it was within the past 3 months) Rose garden speech. There are audio clips and videos floating around of him making the statements. Strangely, it really wasn't seen on CNN, or FoxNEWS. Go fig.

Whitehouse.gov link
Search for the word "operatives" to find the section where he admits that charges were set.

That has the same wisdom as the old "Hey, I'm going to die someday anyway so why not smoke two packs a day?" argument.

Edit: I've a better idea: why don't you find us a cite on the Bush/WTC theory

it wasn't bush, it was superman! I saw him flying into the crash site holding a briefcase full of thermite! and spidey was there too! he's clearly on the side of the building, if you watch that one super secret clip that Fox news won't air!

Already found one, white house official website good enough for you as a citation? For those who're too lazy, here's an mp3 of the section of the speech that's in question.

As for the two packs argument, you can fight mother nature all you want. Just ask London, or New Orleans residents how it worked out for them. The ***** will win if she wants to.

I don't know what the hell he's talking about, but nowhere does he say that the WTC towers were brought down with thermite.

He's talking about exactly what he's talking about. Cutter charges/explosives. The original claim was that jet fuel burning caused the buildings to fall, which is impossible considering structural steel doesn't begin to even bow until it reaches well above 5000 degrees (about 2000 degrees hotter than jet fuel can burn). Thats why a large majority of academics who're crying foul on the "official" story are forensic architects, and demolitions experts. It looks more like a controlled demolition, which can be recreated in a lab, than the official story, which cannot be recreated in a lab.

Either way, my goal wasn't to hijack the thread, just wanted to mention it.

I still say that the ice caps are gonna keep melting whether we want them to or not, because we're nearing at the end of an ice age - which means a big melt is due. Sucks I live near New Jersey. On the upside, New Jersey will be under water.

I don't see anything here explicitly naming the WTC. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was captured and questioned regarding a lot of attacks, both ones that happened and ones which were still being planned.

Considering it was at the september 11th memorial Rose Garden speech, I'm pretty sure that the WTC was implied.

You're "pretty sure". Well, that's all the evidence I need.

I'm "pretty sure" that if Bush wanted to invoke the image of the WTC, he would have said so explicitly. I'm also "pretty sure" that Bush wasn't speaking from the hip; he was reading a speech that someone else wrote and which was vetted and wouldn't contain spooky conspiracy secrets as a slip of the tongue.

I'm also "pretty sure" that if Bush was referring to an attack which occured, he would have talked about what the operatives DID do, rather than what they were instructed to do.

I'm "pretty sure", anyway.

See the thing is if you want to make the argument that explosives were used, and all other arguments fail so you end up using a quote from Bush as evidence the onus is on you to actually know what the **** he is talking about, not to say that it is implied.

Example

a ficitonal Aegis post on September 11th wrote:

Like zomg He said he blew it up on September the 11th quite clearly the source of the WTC attacks was homegrown!!!!!!! Even though WTC and thermite aren't mentioned it is quite clear what he is talking about!!!!!

However we could take a second and put it in context

a ficitonal Aegis post on September 11th wrote:

Ohhh crap. Guess we will have to get Aegis out of that secret torture cell in an eastern bloc gulag. Sh'itty bust!

Please learn than in order to argue a case you need more than 'implied'.

*shrug*

Considering my point wasn't to argue but to state what Bush has said in an aside, I really don't feel I have to argue anything, especially in a thread about the glorious states of New Jersey and California being covered in water in a few years.

If I felt like arguing academic theory on how the WTC fell, I would do so in a thread about it, not in a global warming thread. That's just posting ettiquette. Either way though, you're right. He never does explicitly say it, and the moran does use a teleprompter for everything, so someone could have planted it there to make viewers say "huh?"

Now.. what was the thread about? Global warming being because of spider man? Yep. that web slinging **** is gonna keep shooting out CFC's from his hands that'll keep opening up the ozone and kill us all.

Considering my point

Your point whether it be on WTC or Global Warming is equally laughable because it is built upon hearsay, **** poor science, and a f'ucking total and complete lack of what constitutes a rational argument.

It is ok though. I hold no illusions that you smart enough to comprehend the fact that the very foundation stone of both of your arguments is cracked and flawed. You're a dumb ****, why shouldn't your 'points' reflect this fact? Continue to make your sporadic cyclical posts of "I lost my job and have no hope someone help me feed my useless SO / I got a job I'm so happy, I promise not to f'uck it up this time". just leave the spouting of ignorant as sh'it views to SR, Varus or the occassional FFXItard.

I've also been posting here for years, I just choose not to spend enough time here to get 5 stars like you. Search for my old threads. I'm so highly offended by name calling from someone who's spent years of his life cruising a message board. There's a thing called the sun, I enjoy it between posts on here. You may wish to discover it sometime. In the meantime, I'll be here crying in shame because my posting is sporadic, and not nearly as continuous as yours. The tears are really flowing, I promise.

And how is the Ice Age **** poor science? I'm pretty sure every scientist out there will agree (short of Christian scientists) that there was, in fact, an ice age.

Well I hope to hell you weren't spending your days posting. 6 months living off welfare your *** better be looking for a job. See I have the whole 'being gainfully employed' thing locked down. So I can post here and there, as long as it doesn't affect my ability to work.

Scubakoala aside, we've got to find a name for that. I nominate "Jophiel's Law", since he is the one people most often hit with this retarded excuse for an insult. I also think it should encapsulate the whole "live in your mom's basement" and "probably fat and lonely" arguments. Thoughts?

Living off welfare? Just curious, but how does working 2 jobs, working an internship at a law firm, and going to college full time count as welfare? I mean, since you know so much about my life, you really should explain that to me. I mean, if welfare was an alternative, I would have been soaking it up months ago instead of going from 7 til 9 every day. Damn you for only mentioning it now. I could have been living the posh life as a welfare mom, ******** about 'my baby daddy.'

So, what '**** poor science' did you base your accusations on? To quote you:

**** poor science could more specifically relate back to **** poor understanding.

Your comments on My biggest problem with the whole global warming issue is that many scientists forget that the geological records show that we're still in the very end of an ice age. Our global temperature is going to rise, shows clearly that you have no clue what you are talking about. That your understanding of the problem is childlike and based off a incomplete understanding of what is actually happening.

Yes there are periods of retreat and advance of glaciation. Yes we did come out of a ice age.

The important thing to note is that we came out of the last ice age 10,000 years ago. Also ice age cycles go in 40k-100k year cycles so making the argument that we are warming up from the last one shows a HUGE misunderstanding how Ice Ages work.

Also as mentioned if anything the earth had been seeing a natural cooling trend up until the advent of the industrial revolution. That also blows your 'natural warming' idea straight out of the water, doesn't it?

That based along with the fact that 99% of the scientific community attributes the current trend of global warming to anthropogenic sources and also state that the warming is faster than any natural warming trend also kind of makes your previous statement sound like ignorant babble.

There is much more to it than that. I could spend a day picking anything you throw my way apart but alas I can't, don't have the time. So save us both the trouble and just admit that your views are based off an incomplete understanding of even the most fundamental basics of what is actually happening and that is probably why you are wrong.
